I just downloaded a module and the installation instructions say to CHMOD some files and folders, but they don't say what to change to. Is there a "usual" CHMOD setting?

Which module is it and what are the directories for?

It's the ipboard module from WF-Projects. Here's what the instructions say:

"1. Uploading all of contents inside "upload" folder into yoursite.com/XOOPS_ROOT. (Need to be overwritten XOOPS core files also)
2. Go to AdminCP of XOOPS to install new module
3. CHMOD files/folders in "yoursite.com/XOOPS_ROOT/forum/": cache, skin_acp, skin_cache, style_avatars, style_emoticons, style_images, uploads, conf_global.php.
4. Go to Forum, it will automatically Install for you.
5. Doing as instruction of IPB Install Engine.
6. Finish."

Hi beerMe

You could try a chmod777
Just look to see if works.

well, im not sure really... but you could try 644 to see if that works, if not, 777 will open it up to see if it works. but if 777 is not necessary, then its not recommended.

Maybe someone else knows more.

Cheers,

I agree with lavaburst

I told you to only try chmod 777.

But what i know from this mod is that is a little tricky to install.
