Well since you've started it...
I can't give any time schedules as I'm not involved in it, but I'm interested.
Here's a plan for my site:
There are hundreds or more car enthusiast sites and mine is just another one (happens to run xoops..). Each is very community oriented with a few shared interests like racing and regional/national events.
As the racing season(s) are active there is a shift between club sites and the more regional sites for discussion, schedules, results, photos, etc. Discussion boards are the key and many sites are either only forum sites or are dead outside their forum. Some of them suck less than others.
Many community sites have poor session management within their own site much less across sites. I'd like to bring a few sites together and allow cross site user-names with local group access control. Content, look and feel, whatever, is controlled at each site and delegated. Make a site navigation system easy and better than the usual Links/Ring/Banner system. Use RSS to make a digest screen / recent posts page and if that is customizable for each user then it would really be useful. Users can float around the sites as themselves and not miss content, get lost, login again to contribute, etc.
But that is also a can of worms. Politically it is a big deal as it seems people can be soooo sensitive these days about anything.
