I'm actually the author of the karate_redux_blue theme, and to be perfectly honest I can't remember a great deal of the details as it is well over a year now since I created it. As flattering as it is that you've choosen it, I wouldn't say it is the cleanest XOOPS theme around, or the most technically competent.
I did notice the "Color Scheme by Brashguide" on the logo, but being an Aussie, shouldn't that be "Colour Scheme by Brashguide" ?
I've only just installed XOOPS on Friday, and what comes as default didn't turn me on much, I saw the nice blue on one site, and so thought to go with that, at least a lot more interesting than what comes out of the box, so to speak.

If you do want to use it, then I'd suggest just using the default template. Ackbarr is the author of the karate_redux template, and although my theme is based on his karate_redux theme, it is not exactly the same.
Ok, I will see what it looks like with the default template. Being a 'noob' with XOOPS, I just thought a 'theme had to go with a template', so thought I had to use the karate_redux template, in order to us the "karate_redux_...." themes, it just seemed logical.
I'm still coming to grips with the terminolgy, but I simply see a template as the structure/layout, and the theme to be the styles, colour, and images. Following on from that assumption, I thought that a theme had to always "fit into" a template.
Thanks,
Peter
