Is it at all possible to add additional user fields (e. g., ph. number) to the XOOPS memberlist and profiles? My site is targeted at a group of people who are likely still dependant on telephones for a large degree of their interaction, thus, it makes sense for users to be able to (not be required to) publically list their ph. numbers. Any advice on how to actually do this? Thanks.

I believe this is one of the planned features of XOOPS 2.2, Dynamic User Profiles.

You can see this tutorial, but (sorry) available only in french.

So in short no it can't be done with out making hacks to the core XOOPS files................. more complicated to update in the future

Good to know, then. Thanks for the info. It is by no means essential, just would be nice. At anyrate, I do appriciate all the hard work that has gone into XOOPS so far. To all the developers: thanks!
