Since I'm not part of any "run for a seat and title"
I'm at the place of the user alike almost everyone here.
Based on my proposal, quite clear, don't you think so ?

@jdseymour

To bad the way you try to show you smartness.
as it only means that's a personal transfer.
Rather frequent with persons suffering from
cerebral damage in association with personality
disturbance arising as a reaction to impairment

Focus on Proposal

It was suggested to be a community discussion
not a private one, where people will build their seats
and define titles for the next 6 months !

I like people more than machines or money. But that's me!

Understand your frustration Nuno, but we've only been at it a week. Give us a chance.
Just a reminder that we will be disbanding the team once the work is done, so there are no "seats" that have any lasting meaning.

Based on your example, are you saying the users are the ones digging themselves into a hole and you are helping them?

@sailjapan

Sorry, it is not a frustration it is a fact !
You're spending your time and prevent this topic to evolve
closing discussion, you close it to evolution.
Alike the last team as done! Same behavior, same consequences. Someone was using the following quote within signature :

“The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” — Albert Einstein

Also, without core contributions/development what will you manage?

@skenow

Humm... you're thinking your-self as one of the pictures leaders that you can't see the reality. I will not spend my time explaining to you how to open your mind to open source spirit.
But when your work on earth is done, mark your last abode !

Re: Proposal: Towards A Sustainable Open Source Project

right now Nuno, we're establishing roles. Who's responsible for reporting, who's responsible for maintaining a wiki, who's chair... Which system we're going use to vote etc. We have been working for approx. a week now, and considering as how the members are in half a dozen time zones and that we all have full time employment, I think we're making progress.

All the meaty discussion is going on here still, isn't it? I'm talking, you're talking, others are making comments...

believe me, it's boring as hell over there in comparison.

Can't wait to get started.

Rest assured, as soon as anything important gets brought up over there, this will be one of the places it gets mentioned.

No conspiracy, just nothing to say yet.

(EDIT: oh, and one more point. We're not going to be managing anything. We are going to try to find a process for the project to be managed by. Then we all quit. Believe me, I'm looking forward to going back to my relatively safe Community Coordinator role.)

Establishing roles? who's responsabible?

The core defines its requirements to match technology evolution
The project structure defines its rules to evolve.

The project being community driven, everyone is responsible.
Alike wiki, it is based on everyone contribution.

And you just confirm that you keep it close to public
to define who and who from the such small group will
have a seat and a title ??

Not very different from the Foundation closed team.

Sorry, If it is that, i will not support you anymore !

Re: Proposal: Towards A Sustainable Open Source Project

you mis-understand me, Nuno.
The wiki and reporting roles I'm talking about are the ones that this team will be using to report our discussions and make input from the community possible. Forums are too cumbersome.

Don't be so quick to discount what we're trying to do, Nuno. A little patience (really, just a little) is all we ask.
