I was thinking that it might have something to do with the site being closed. You could first try opening it, running the xoopsupdate.php script again, then closing it.
to open your site:
UPDATE xoops_config SET conf_value=0 WHERE conf_name = 'closesite'
closing it again is conf_value=1
or to add the extra field to your users table:
ALTER TABLE xoops_users ADD `loginname` VARCHAR( 25 ) NOT NULL AFTER `uid`
I am having the exact same problem as Schwob, that is closed access to the site before the upgrade, except for administrators. Now, when I run xoopsupdate.php I cannot login anymore and am totally stuck.
Only difference is that I have no knowledge whatsoever of SQL or databases and hope somebody can help me explain what I need to do (step-by-step).
I have Cpanel access to my server, if that is of any use?
PC Runing MacOS X (if that is a problem?).
Many many thanks in advance for your help!
