I use Xampp on my win system. Pretty good, have had no problems, but then again it's different from user to user depending what you are running OS wise and what you plan on running for your site. You can check it out here and the site is in english and dutch I beleive it is.

As I replied yesterday to Mithrandir and Chapi I'm going to check out XAMPP and then XOOPS. Download, install, read documentation en FAQS in their site, play with it, get frustrated, spend a lot of time finding solutions for problems which can be solved in 10 seconds, (if you know what the problem is), and hopefully within a few months I get my website up and running!

XSAS = XOOPS Stand Alone Server, which is a package with PHP, MYSQL, Apache, complete with XOOPS reinstalled and preconfigured, without any install (!!!). Just run, and you're good to go (meaning you can even carry your webserver with you on a memory key! and use it anywhere you are).
