cmsguy, note that you can still have installed modules, but have the module invisible,(see the module admin page, and check out the fifth column labeled: 'order'.) thus it won't show up in the main menu.

yes in the column marked "order next to the module you change the "1" to a "0" and this module will still be active, but not show in the main menu.

There is other block modules like multi-menu and tigra etc if you do a search you should find some that might suit your needs.

I found this by typing "menu" in the XOOPS search box, went to forums and clicked through "show all"
