I was wondering.. as I have News 1.4 installed on my site, but I can't find a way to have the news blocks displayed the same way as the Xoops.org site...

How is it done? A specific module? A specific block? A special template?

I have the same problem with my own site (but never with Xoops.org or FrXoops)... Did anybody find anything relating to this?

This we, I upgraded my old XOOPS 1.10 installation to XOOPS 2.0.9.2

After a while, and though the site is still closed for maintenance, it started to become very slow. It doesn't appear to be Smarty related, because it is painfully slow even in the admin section.

I have only a few modules installed, and just loading the admin page can take 4.6 seconds with only 14 requests...

How can I find out what's happening?

Running "top" shows that the cpu isn't very busy... I'd say it's the database... but...

Any help greatly appreciated.

That gives some insight, but no real answer (or did I miss something?)

Bump again... this is annoying :) , my System menu is gone mysteriously to the fourth row...

Shouldn't the "thing" which generates the menu at least use the same order as the main menu, (ie, the modules order), with the System menu being the first?

Best regards

I handle a small student fellowship site. Students grow and become workers, but they are still members "forever" and still visit the site.
I recently received a complaint from one of my user because the first result returned by Google on his name is his user page on our site. He doesn't want any future employer to see that.

Is there any way to easily allow access to those pages only to registered users?

(it's a 1.x version, but I will upgrade to X² within a few weeks)

Newbb is currently under a major revamp from Predator. I think it will include this feature (or you can still ask for it). Check it out athttp://testsite.xoops2.org/modules/newbb/viewforum.php?forum=2

If you wait, say 2 or 3 weeks, the new newbb on which Predator is working will be available and it looks really really promising, with many many new features and bells and whistles that you might want from other bb systems.
