Thanks for the tips! I'm not fond of hacking a system file, but no biggie. I would suspect that there are a number of standard values that would be useful to have available in blocks, maybe it can be generalized in a module.

Thanks again!

I like the idea that a user is logged out on group change, I can live with that just fine. It is a minor thing when increasing a user's access rights, but critical when removing them.

I'll try and see what happens then report back.

Thanks for the tip!

It appears to me that a user's group membership/perms are only checked at login, and not later. If nothing else, I would like to be able to force a user off the system when I mark them inactive with their next click.

Ideally, I want a user's access rights to change immediately upon change of group membership, whether more or less restrictive.

Does anyone know how to accomplish this? I am using XOOPS 2.3.1.

Is there a way to use a variable such as {X_UNAME} in a custom block or do you need to use a PHP block and access internal variables? I want to have something like "Hi (username)!" and haven't found anyway to do it yet. I expect I need to use PHP.

On a related note, is there a list of all the tags like {X_SITENAME} that can be used in custom blocks?

Thanks for the advice. I've installed eXtCal 2.2.2 and it seems to be okay. I must point out that it is missing what I consider to be a key feature, the ability to automatically include user's birthdays as events.

Other than that it looks usable.

I am using CBB v.3.08 and simply can NOT figure out how to mark a topic as "Sticky". Can anyone point me to some info on this?

Thanks!

Edit: Another search for just "sticky topic" yeilded an old post that answered the question. The post was on page 2 of all results.

I have the same problem. In addition, links do not appear in the menu block when displayed.
