That's what I thought. I looked through all of my folders in my directory (in dreamweaver) and didn't see any directories named cache,//modules, //class etc...

Hey Mamba sorry to keep bothering you like this, but I don't see any of those file you mentioned in my directory. Did you mean the directory on my host or do you mean the files that I access through dreamweaver? Please bare with me, I am very green.

Ok, I tried to figure it out and not bother you guys, but I'm really stuck. I backed up my site, I downloaded the XOOPS upgrade, I followed the instructions, (moving files around as instructed). But these 4 remaining steps I can't figure out:
3. Upload the content of the htdocs folder over your existing files
4. Access <your.site.url>/upgrade/ with a browser, and follow the instructions
5. Follow the instructions to update your database
6. Delete the upgrade folder

Especially step 3. Please help! BTW thanks for the stuffit, worked like a charm!

Thanks, I would like to upgrade to the latest xooops version but it downloads as a zip file, how do I open a zip file on a mac and is there a potential for losing data?

I had a site built for me running xoops. The person that built it for me is no longer available to me so I need to learn how to manage the XOOPS part of website. I use a mac. Is XOOPS compatible with my mac? If not what can I do short of buying a pc?
