I'm trying out Smartsection module and there is an option for "Custom template" can anybody advise as to how to use this facility as It would be really useful for my site.
does it mean i can have a different page layout to the category listings etc ?

modifying a module pd downloads

I wanted to modify pddownloads so it would be more suitable for my needs. Basically i want to :

reposition the download function to bottom of page
add an extra download (trial option) to each page (with image)
add/delete some of the specifications list

what files do I need to manipulate to sort these out and tidy up the admin area ?

alphabetical news listing

I'm currently using news vers 1.53 but find i need an alphabetical list. kinda like the ones that appear on this sites module repository with the A | B | C | etc. block appearing at the top of each page.Is there a facility I can do this with or does any body know of a more suitable module they could recommend (i looked but could only see the download ones)? I dont have that much live on site yet so transferring data wouldnt be a problem

sorry to resurrect this again but i cant get either working yet

@jmorris as last post

@gestroud i did the upgrade and hit the radio button for "Display a 'Bookmark this article at these sites' block ?" in Module Config Options but theres nothing on the articles pages . have i missed something ?

i have the right pathway in this:

@ gestroud is this an upgrade from news 1.44 ? as this is what i'm working with. if so is there a way to upgrade without losing all the material so far?

@JMorris sorry i dont have much experience with XOOPS but is it the theme.html of your theme that you add the code too ? as i cant seem to get it working

ive done a site search and havent been able to find this altho i could be using the wrong terminology (again !) i'm looking for a module that'll add digg it, redd it, del.icio.us etc. little icon links to articles. does anybody know of one ?

hi this is a real noobie question, so i'm sorry if its staring me in the face but i want to list my 'news' in two seperate categories eg type of product and suitable for age group.
is there an extra bit of coding i can add or is it already there and i cant see it .
