Im running it all on localhost with the default MySQL DB User
"root" and just the password changed. Im having a very hard
time beleiving this account shouldn't have the appropiate
rights in that folder!? By the way, where in the install
docs does it say that the "/root/tmp"/ folder needs to be
writable by the db user??

I also can't see the logical connection why the menu shouldn't
show in the start-page because of this and why NO blocks at
all are showing in the Admin area?

I have tried to grant Everyone FULL rights to /root/tmp/ but
it makes no difference at all :( I have run XOOPS a coupl of
times before on Linux but never had any configuration problems
like this, so what has changed lately??

By the way, i am of course running XOOPS 2.0.7.3 :)

Linux Mandrake 10 (2.6.8.1) with Xampp 1.4.9a

including

PHP 4.3.9 (set in Xampp)
MySQL 4.0.21
Apache 2.0.52

Register Globals = On
db was created successfully
Checked URL & Path

Folders\files needed to be made writable are dun' so :)
And YES i've read the Wiki stuff which didnt gimme the
least help at all :)

Problem:
After installting without any problems or errors i end up
with a blank page :(

I logg into the admin area (which are accessible)and
go to System Admin\Blocks and find NOTHING, not a single
block is listed!?
I go to Modules, add Forum and set that to be shown in
startpage. Then i go back to Home and find the Forum Module
is loaded in the "main-frame" but NO menu's are visible!?

All pages in the admin section is working, accept for the Blocks-page.

When i turn on PHP DEBUG i get the following on frontpage:
Notice [PHP]: Undefined Index: HTTP_USER_AGENT in the file include\functions.php line 441 which reads:

And when i turn on MySQL\Blocks Debug i get this:

Made The folder /root/tmp/ writable to ALL (just as a test) but no difference :)

Help? Ideas? Suggestions? Anything... PLZ

Thanx for integrating this with xoops! It's a very nice start
to what can become a superb module!

We are the top rated team at GameKnot and we have started
a test of this module on the teams site, of course running
on XOOPS 2.0.7 :)
You can find an example at the SITE.

I've sent requests for implentation of new features and the
2 most important i think is:

1. Timecontrol - Should be able to limit the time for each move, such as 1,3,5 or 7 days.
2. Rating - Players should be rating by the result of each
finished game. This can be all from very easy to extremely
complicated. Preferably would be something like the ELO
system (read more).

Our team consist of real international masters, so don't
hesitate to contact us for advice and help to develop this
module to something great :)

Problem with posting into Forum

I have the following problems with all of my sites, both
on XOOPS 1.3.x and 2.0.x. Have ran it on different PC's
with different O\S with the same results.

EVERYTHING works perfect, but after opening about 20-30 different
threads in the NewBB Forum i stops working. After that
i can't access, edit or post in ANY threads! I klick a
thread and the timeglass shows until i get a timeout...
When this happends i delete the xxx@newbb[x].txt cookie
and everything works fine again!!

This is no big problem for me, but my users just can't
stand this as many have little PC knowledge :)

The sites are running on Windows 2003 server with 2 Ghz
CPU and 1024Mb Ram. I'm also behind a D-Link 604i firewall.
Xoops is running under the following config:

+ Apache 2.0.48
+ MySQL 4.0.15
+ PHP 4.3.4 + PEAR
+ Perl 5.8.0

register_globals = On

Thankful for any ideas...

Well, that is strange!!

Have you tried different version of IE?
Or might it be a security\cookie preference in IE?
(but then i shouldnt be able to post here?)

For me it helps to clear my cookies and then i can
view and post again. Might have something with the
session handling??

I deleted all the cookies named anything with newbb.
At this occation i had 2 of them, with connections
to the 2 sites i am hosting:

peter@newbb[1].txt
peter@newbb[2].txt

These are the SESSION settings in my php.ini.
Doesn't say me much :( Can anybody help?

Cant access Threads in NewBB
I have the following problems with all of my sites, both
