Best method of finding latest modules

I have noticed that the most recent version of good modules are NOT listed in the module repository. Do most module writers have their own site? In general, what is the best source for the latest modules?

My method has been to do a google search on the modules listed in the module repository, but perhaps there is a better way?

Thanks. I understand, I will NOT be using XOOPS 2.2x. I was confused by the fact that the "Official XOOPS Modules" pages (https://xoops.org/modules/core/viewcat.php?cid=9 ) lists the platform as XOOPS 2.2, but I must assume that it is outdated. Thanks again.

Couldn't post on the Theme page, maybe because I'm a newbie?

I was wondering if there were any modules or templates that would add a tabbed bar, similar to Apple's site? I searched and there was one from UC Berkeley, but the links are broken.

A top navigation Tab bar would be awesome.

Loving Xoops, and using the 2.0.16 as suggested. However, it seems that many modules are being designed for 2.2x, especially the enticing "Module Packs" offered. Any info on when the next version will be coming out?
