PBB 1.13 or CBB 1.16? Both are quite old now and I'm wondering if there might be issues using them with more recent XOOPS versions. But I'm new around here and am probably wrong

I use CBB 3.08, available from the Dev Forge. Works really well with XOOPS 2.0.16 and would respectfully suggest that you do the same. You'll need the latest Frameworks and xoopseditors too. Big uploads, but worth it IMHO.


1.13. I have a board already set up and running. I basicly dumped the board included in the download and replaced it with my own. It seems to want to install it. Im just getting the database error. Im not a MySQL expert but it seems to be a conflict with creating the tables. The script is trying to create a user table prefixed php_users and I have on the databse a XOOPS table called Xoops_users.

So then I tried to import my phpbb database into the XOOPS databse and just remove the sql script from the download where it tries to create the databse. However, when I do that it gives me an error that it cant find the SQL script . HA, no kidding, I dont want to re-create the tables if they are already there...Ha.

Anyway, its a circle. If I dont have the tables it gives the error of the table "users" is reserved. If I add the tables already and dont run the sql script it looks for the script and gives that error.

Argghhh!

When trying to install the phpBB module, I get this error.

Installing Message Board

users is a reserved table!

Unable to install pbboard. Error(s):


The only users table I have on the database is prefixed Xoops_Users. I dont have a php_users.

(deleted - Davidl2 - no need to include a huge script on the forum...)

7dana red theme

Can someone please tell me how to remove the 7dana online "link" (alt text) on the top left of my home page. I heve looked everywhere for this. It is an Alt text for when the image will not display. I have removed the log.gif but can not find the script where this is coming from....

Importing an Existing phpBB?

Hello all...

I did a search but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So here goes:

The Background:
I have basically two sites. The first is a XOOPS cms and the second is phpBB. The XOOPS site has a domain and the forum is on a sub-domain with its own separate database. Basically the forum is forum.Xoops site verses XOOPS site.



Questions:
1. Can I import the existing phpBB into the XOOPS forum module. I assume I would no longer need this subdomain.

2. When you download the XOOPS phpBB module it comes with a phpBB board correct? duh.. Ok could I just replace the phpbb files with my own for the subdomain? I would think yes but what about the database?

3. Does anyone have an example of a XOOPS site with a phpBB board installed? Does logging in to the XOOPS site automatically log you into the forum? Are the registrations for the XOOPS site copied for the forum?

I really would not like to have to start a new board by scratch so is this possible?

I thought about that too. Checked it and it points to just the site with no indexes attached. Justhttp://mysite.com. This brings up the site fine and I can log in and navigate around ok.

The problem is when I hover over the home (in the main menu block) or home page button on the ADMIN panel it points to the same address with the addition of XOOPS/htdocs. Depending on whether or not I have directory access turned on or off on my server, the directory ( Or access denied to directory) comes up when I click the button.

So its like when I access the site in an open browser and put in the urlhttp://mysite.com everything comes up perfect. ONCE I am on the board and logged in however and try to go home is when it sends me to XOOPS/htdocs folder.

I have tried like I said above changing the mainfile.php folder in root and virtual, but that just screws up the whole site. I'm thinking its in the program, yet I don't know where in the html the address is assigned (mapped to) for these home buttons. Or if there is a something in the admin tools.

open your mainfile and look for XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and XOOPS_URL
are they correct and point the folder that you upload files?


The mainfile Root and Virtual point to the indexes

/XOOPS/htdocs/

That brings up the site directory. I then have to click index to bring the site back up. This is what I am wondering, do I have something installed wrong. The board works fine otherwise. Do I / can I/ should I change the home button link to /XOOPS/htdocs/index versus just /XOOPS/htdocs? Or should the site go to the index anyway? I have the following site indexs on my host server options. XOOPS/htdocs/index.php

I have no redirects and a WWW web alias.

On my XOOPS board just installed, everything looks great. Except for the HOME button on the main menu block as well as at the top left of the ADMIN page (where it says "home Page") is pointed to the htdocs folder. This brings up the index list of the site and not the site itself.

1. First question: Can you change this link to point to the site? or

2. Do I have something installed wrong, I had to re-direct my url to include the lower indexes /XOOPS/htdocs/index.php Is this right?

When I hit the home or home page button on the site it takes me tohttp://mysite.com/xoops/htdocs, you can see it linked to that in the bottom left of the browser.

Heck, I am wondering if I am even seeing the home page, I mean what exactly is the address of a newly installed XOOPS application. Should the board come up without having to include the sub-folders. Or am I over-thinking this?
