It seems the problem may be that xoopspoll expects you to have either register_globals or register_long_arrays on (not sure which). Those are off on TextDrive (my host), and they discourage turning them on.
This affects the use of http_get_vars and http_post_vars. Supposedly they have been replaced with simply _get and _post.
I'm not a php programmer, so, could someone confirm this? It seems that I also had the same problem when trying to use the bluemoon poll module.

Hmm. I guess no one knows what went wrong with my xoopspoll install.
I have given up. I'll be trying other poll type modules till I get one that works I suppose.
Thanks for your input.
I just hate to leave a mystery unsolved.

After taking another look at the installation documentation, it appears as if the xoopspoll (blind) expects xoopspoll to already installed.
Perhaps this is my problem after all. Where can I find the original "xoopspoll" to which "xoopspoll (blind)" appears to be an upgrade to?

Does this mean there is no way to fix version1 of xoopspoll, and I must upgrade to 1.1?
It appears that version 1 works on the demo sitehttp://xoopsmods.mmwebsites.com/modules/xoopspoll
Not that I doubt 1.1 isn't a great product, I would just like to know why my v1 of xoopspoll doesn't work before upgrading.

I recently installed the XOOPSPoll (Blind) from the module repository (I was unable to find the unmodified original XOOPSPoll).
When I attempt to delete the default poll, or create a new poll, nothing happens.
I turned on debugging, and then tried to add a new poll, and It didn't show any errors, only the sql statements issued to create the admin page.
Likewise, I had inline debugging on and tried to delete the existing demo poll, and all that the debugging showed, was the sql to generate the page (no delete statements).
