I reloaded the template files several times and still had the same problem.
I don't know how to drop all 'bb' tables via phpmyadmin.
I do have a database copy if that is what you mean?

This has all went beyond my abilities I've tried to follow the directions and do this I really have, I've done my best to show you my problems so I could get the help I need. I know it is hard to help someone without seeing the problem.
I dopn't know what else to do... didn't know what else to do except follow the advice of someone who said he never got it to work either. I messed up big time huh? Can you give me instruction on how to add the posts back to the current forum? I'd rather have had CBB 3.0.8 but I spent a week on it.

O.K. I did find a problem in Templates but it was easily remidied. I clicked on the download button and then the list was fine, apparantly there were more files in CBB than in the newwbb I upgraded from. So....double checked templates, double checked permissions still no forum posts on the regular page, only in the forum admin.
So I deleted it all and tried the install again, this makes the 4th time, every time I did it someting got better so tried agian.
All went well again except this time NO forum, no posts NOT EVEN IN ADMIN and I spent 5 hours this morning trying to figure out why.
I uploaded the xoop1 database copy file again. Checked everything, read everything...came back here to look for ideas....said the hell with it and took Marks initial advice and downloaded Newbbex and installed that. Easy, worked right out of the box, everything looks good. My Original problem is fixed now, for those that don't remember, my client could no longer post remote links in their posts so they could add photos. Now they have a new upgraded forum...and lost all their posts. needless to say after a week of waiting my clients are not happy. I have the file but have no idea how to get it back on there.
If anyone knows and can help please do.

O.K. Here is a shot of my Forum Admin.
Resized Image

Here is one while in admin of what is under the Forum tab:

Resized Image

Here is one of one of the forums, named General (again within admin)

I know I have not uploaded the icons yet.

Here is the thread within the General forum-AGAIN within Admin:

Now here is the Forum page,
http://ecmhc.com/members/modules/newbb

Resized Image

What is there is Empty.

I syncronized...

My options for debug are
Inline mode - no errors
Popup mode - no errors
Smarty Templates debug - I get this

And no errors on the page the forum tables are on.

Has blown my mind.

I agree it seems there should be a simple solution such as permissions.

Since you can see the topics and posts, it must be a permissions problem. Templates are fine, database is fine, module install is fine.

How about something bigger - the group access to the module/blocks?

In System Admin? Yes I checked that too, permissions are set there.
Is this what you meant?
I feel like I'm missing something stupid.

Yes have set permissions from Category access down to Can post witout approval. I went back over it twice then set a default permission template and applied it.....tried these things with no luck yet. Also tried (In forum admin) clicking on edit next to each forum and checking apply default permissions.
In forum admin I can click on each forum and see the topics and old posts.
I agree it seems there should be a simple solution such as permissions. Can you think of anything else I need to try?

i repeat i dont find "newbb_get_topics_viewed" function in cbb 3.08 package so it seems there is a problem in your uploaded files.try to delete all files under "newbb" folder and reupload them again.
after install/upgrade you should set/check permissions for access , read , post , reply , ... to each forum in newbb --> admin --? permissions

I did this this morning and everything went well, so far no errors and the module/newbb page is there with the Forum names BUT the posts are NOT there. They ARE there in the Forum admin, I can click on each and browse the posts. What do I do?? I've checked everything twice and set the permissions in the Forum admin.
Thank you for any help you can give me.

Thank you irmtfan I will try that, I didn't mean to ignore that option. I think you are right in recommending this. I will post tomorrow as to my outcome..... wish me luck!

edited to say: don't know what I was thinking! , yes I did all of this...was thinking at the time the Forum admin in this new version is WAY nicer than the one I had.
