Thanks for the suggestion Snow but that does not work either. I can change the colour of the text in the main and user menus but nothing happens to the multimenu - the text stays black which can barely be seen against the background colour that I am using.

Cheers,

Hi,

I am trying to change the font and text colour in a horizontal CSS menu from multimenu. Changing the CSS file in scripts/8 does not appear to work - although I may eb changing the wrong part. Can anyone tell me what to change?

Cheers,

JCB

Did you check your XOOPS_URL on the mainfile.php?

Hi,

I am running XOOPS 2.0.14 with WAMP5 (1.6.4) on a local machine and would like to share the site for testing with other computers on a LAN (behind a firewall).

After selecting 'Put Online' from the WAMP icon I can connect to the front page of the site from other machines using //MACHINE.COMPANY.local/xoops/ (the local machine names are all defined). However, when I try to log on to the site the page re-directs to //localhost/xoops/user.php

I have tried with the IP address directly (it is static) but after interacting with XOOPS the connection is always re-directed to localhost. I did set the 'Your IP Address' in the XOOPS preferences but can find no reference to localhost anywhere. I have also tried with the WAMP UseCanonicalName directive (from httpd.conf) both On and Off with no luck.

Am I missing a setting? Can someone help me please?

Cheers,

JCB

Thanks for checking this. I must have got the RC1 version by a couple of days and never noticed the final release.

I have downloaded it now and will try a clean installation in the week (I am currently out of town). I will report back when I know if that was the problem but thanks for the help!

Hi,

I am running XOOPS 2.0.14-rc1 with PHP 5.1.4 and MySQL 5.0.22-community-nt and am having no sucess getting CBB working. The latest version (3.04) seems to be installed correctly but whenever I attempt to go to the forums (currently the initial test forum but I have also tried others) all I get is:

Quote:

Welcome to XOOPS Test Site - Test Name.
1 | 1

The time now is 2006/7/1 2:10
You last visited: 2006/6/29 19:30:33

Category Test

" alt="" /> =
" alt="" /> =
=
[ ]

Followed by the Notification options.

Looking at the debug output it initially says no errors but down in the queries (in red) there is:

Quote:

SELECT read_item,post_id,read_id FROM xoops_bb_reads_forum WHERE (uid = '1' AND read_item IN ()) ORDER BY read_id DESC
Error number: 1064
Error message: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')) ORDER BY read_id DESC' at line 1

Unfortunately I know little about SQL and less about PHP at the moment. Can anyone help me fix this since I would really rather use CBB to a different forum module.

Cheers,

JCB

Hi,

I am new to XOOPS and it looks really promising. However, I would like to create a site where when users log on they can go to a custom home page with favourite sections and forums listed (or at least information given on if there is something new).

The custom homepage would be ideal but what would be essential would be a custom 'favourite topics' page for forums. Preferably only listing those topics with new posts (maybe this could be an option). This would be necessary since I am planning a very large number of topics and each user may only be interested in a few.

Is this possible in XOOPS - either directly or with a module?

Cheers,

JCB
