Thanks again Bandit-x.

I am just starting to get into php myself. I joined lynda.com about a week ago and will be watching their tutorials on php as well as others, and have started reading through online tutorials to help get a grasp on using php better.

Hopefully someday I can contribute back more to the XOOPS community.

I replaced the index.php file as I noticed that there was differences in my index.php and a fresh installed index.php. Made the chances you suggested and bam, it works.

Would you mind explaining what

ltitle' => $myts->makeTboxData4Show($ltitle), is doing?

thanks again, I really appreciate the help

Thanks for the post Bandit-x,

I searched through my index.php file in my mylinks folder and the closest I could come up with to what you had posted was ''' => $myts->makeTboxData4Show($l').$new.$pop

I don't see anything in the index.php file with 'title' but had this code $chtitle = $myts->makeTboxData4Show($ele[''']);

The viewcart does have this: title' => $myts->makeTboxData4Show($ltitle).$new.$pop

Do you think maybe my index.php may be messed up, should that be changed to what viewcart.php has?

thanks again for the help.

Is it possible to accomplish a rewrite if XOOPS is not installed in the root directory?

I have XOOPS installed athttp://www.justhotdeals.net/games, at the moment. I was attempting to create a gaming download/online review site.

I am a little concerned that the search engines won't crawl that part of my site and would like to make the links a bit more search engine friendly.

I tried the shorturl mods with no luck and the info found here about the .htaccess file. I am not sure if I need to change anything to get it to work in the /games directory or if it will even work at all.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Thanks,

checked it out. I was not able to get it to work. I probably am doing it wrong as my XOOPS site is not in the root but under a subdirectory. I tried adding the directory info, but just got 404 errors.

Thanks Again,

Tom

I was wondering how you would change a modules name, directory and details.

I was playing around with changing the mylinks module for more of a games link module, here but would like to change the module name, directory, sql and other details about the module. For example instead of it being mylinks it would be gamelinks. I tried a search and replace on a clean copy of the mylinks and all php files, but after replacing all it seemed to create the right sql tables and there was no errors, but no details either.

Also is there a way to change the /modules directory to something like /content?

For example instead of:
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/
it would be
https://xoops.org/content/newbb/

Thanks
Tom

Once you log into the control panel and create your blocks, you still need to go to the ( system admin ) - ( groups menu ) and modify the Anonymous Users.

You should see Block Access Rights listed on the page with a bunch of check boxes to the right of it. Look for the blocks with the titles of your custom block and check those boxes, clcik the Update Group button on the bottom of the page.

Hopefully That should work.

Never did get the Alt tags to use the website title for the link, but did manage to get the link.description to work in the for the alt tags.

Also added a script to click to zoom images.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks danielmd,

I am open for any ideas or suggestions you or anyone may have. This site is just a stepping stone to help me start working with php.

Still a lot of work to do.

Thanks again,

Tom

Sorry danielmd,

The site is still in very early stages of design. I had some things not yet enabled. It should work now.

Thanks

Tom
