Hey I am trying to customize this theme I bought :

I want to make the big square banner into a banner that looks like this:

in other words How can I change the banner so it fits all the way across the page like this:

instead of one big block?

I know it is something to do in the coding, I know html very well but php I am new to. What do i have to do to change it so the banner fits all the way across the page? we have removed the blocks to the side and im making a new banner that is going to approx 120 pixels high, just wondering how i can make it fit across the page .
