Help! Please, can someone tell me why I seem to be able to get smartsection spotlight block on my top page, but no other blocks except for custom blocks. Actually, I have only tryed to put Recent WF-Links and Recent News there, but neither would go. If this is not normal, maybe I should uninstall both modules, overwrite the files, and try again. Any ideas?

Tropical mail errors...

I installed tropical mail. It seems to work when I log into my webmaster account, recognizing my XOOPS webmaster usid and password, however when I log in as a registered member, it does not. I read in a post that it is required that a separate userid and pswd is required for members, however, I see know where that you can congigure it, from either the registered member or from the admin or from the webmaster. There is a hack by Kaotik, that allows for the userid and pswd to automatically be put in. I overwrote the regular files with the hack files but this did not seem to do anything. (however, there seems to be an extra index.php in the hack files?)

I am also getting quite a few php errors in the program, however it does not seem: Xoops_lang_loading file in includes/function.php is not present, line 152 and line 153 I looked, and there isn't a function.php file in my folder.

Also, on /tropical/language/engish/modinfo.php failed to open stream. no such firle directory in file include/functions.php line 152

Thanks...

Is there an HTML/Static page tool that can create a page with the page path one level below the Toppage ie) www.yoursite.com/linkpage.html And Edit that page via an online editor. I know, Easy Web will create a page, but it is a couple levels below the home page.

When I put my Recent News and my News by topic on the front, I got a pull down box. I want a line item with date of posting. I know where the date of posting is, but for the life of me, I don't know where the configuration for the rest of the news is. Is this configured in the theme design?

I have the News Module 1.44 and XOOPS 2.2.3 I am having a real noob problem. The format for News on my site is in a pull down box. That is, recent news and news topics. I do not see any selection in the admin that allows you to change it. I would like a line item. Is this done as part of the theme? If not, where is the place that I can select how the news if formated on my Top Page as well as if you select news from a link and go to the page. (I know there is a selection of publish date as well as terminating date in the permissions)

I would like to make an area of my site for members. In this area, I would like to have an IRC Chat room. Only one of the XOOPS IRC chat modules works, and this one has no admin to control the channels or servers, hence I have desided to go with a Child domain or another file on my site with a php script. (oh, I also need a forum and a ecard script and maybe other "goodies") Can I put the folders/files from an on XOOPS BB and Chat in another folder, pull it together into a members page, (probably members.php) then pull it into XOOPS multimenu allowing access from the home page? What module do I use and how would I do that? Maybe the external link? How about the scenario with the child domain? Probably definitly the external link in that case, hu? Thanks....

I figured it out. You have to click on the heading, such as WF Links or whatever, not a subblock. Thanks for reading, anyway.

I have XOOPS 2.2.3 I made my first custom block without a problem. On the second one, when I choose it from the dropdown on the Blocks menu, it directs me to a screen with a redish Blocks Administration>> Add a new block Hitting the link, Blocks Administration takes me back to the Block page with no new block created. Did I disable custom block feature somehow? I checked the groups permissions and for the Webmaster, and for the user, the system block remains checked.
