Nice module, John. I have a couple of suggestions for your next release (unless I missed something) --
(1) ability to limit HTML entry by user group -- this may be available through an editor module, but I'm not sure about that and xoopseditor doesn't seem to be documented anywhere,
(2) ability to add a link to an external website, also authorized by user group (e.g. premium members can add a link, other's can't),
(3) ability to activate a drop-down category selection when creating/editing an ad, or perhaps by choice at the category level for subcategories-- sometimes the drill-down exercise takes time and might inhibit use for the impatient among us, and
(4) allow ads to be self-approved if the user is a particular group (e.g. webmaster, premium).

I'd also be interested in this type of module, for use in Community Theatre costume/prop management.

Basically, we'd need multiple categories (costume, prop, set dressing, furniture), asset#, title & description (searchable keywords), image URL (and ability to upload/replace), storage location (building, room, section), donation information (who, value, etc.) and other categorization information (era, style, etc.). We'd like the ability to print a pick-list. We don't really need to relieve inventory since we stage one production at a time.

I could code this external to XOOPS and integrate it, but a module would be cleaner, easier to integrate and more professional, plus I don't have time. Any ideas? Possible cost estimates?

I have this same problem too. Any help would be appreciated. Moving back to an earlier version isn't an option.
