CBB 2.3.0 or NewBB 2.02 ?

I have a XOOPS 2.3.0 Installation and I'm looking for a forum module

I'm a little bit confused about CBB 2.3.0 and NewBB 2.02 ...
because it seems, that newBB is a discontinued project ...
and that CBB is it's successor ...

but newBB is much more popular in the download section ...


what exactly is the difference between newBB and CBB ?
Does CBB have any drawbacks compared to newBB ... or what exactly is the reason for this lack of popularity ?

[some fixes] EventGuide 1.6.8 on XOOPS 2.2.3

EventGuide 1.6.8 had some Issues on XOOPS 2.2.3 ...
one of them prevented the creation of new events ...

here's the description how to fix them ...

first of all ... the search function and faq had no answer to this one ...

Question:
Assuming a user is member of more than one group (ex.: Registered User *AND* Webmasters) ...
and I grant permission to Module A in "Webmasters" and block permission to Module A in "Registered Users"

what are the resulting permissions ?
Will "permission vectors" for groups just be OR'ed resulting in precedence of "grant permissions" ?

like this ? :
X = grant access, 0 = deny access

Webmasters: XXXXXXXXXX0XX0X
Reg. Users: 00000X0000X0X0X
----------------------------- OR-Operation
Result    : XXXXXXXXXXXXX0X



P.S.: Where do you guys hide the documentation ^^ ?
