Hello, i am looking for a good photoalbum.
I use XOOPS 2,2
PHP Version 5.1.0RC1
and MySQL - MySQL 4.1.14
chmod is ok everywhere (777) (i hope)

Myalbum and xoopsgallery does not work with my settings.

Hello,
i use the same host - www.pipni.cz - freehosting.
I think pipni uses PHP Version 5.1.0RC1.
I have nearly the same trouble ( i use the same version of XOOPS as you). I cannot create new album - Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in /DISK3/WWW/hvalur.org/xoops/modules/myalbum/admin/index.php on line 42

And one more question, - in check configuration dialog of album preferences - i have this line red - PHP directive 'upload_tmp_dir': Error: upload_tmp_dir (/DISK2/TMP) is not writable nor readable . How did you change this line to another directory ?

Hello,
i got it,
i did not upload all files and two were missing in kernel directory, the files needed to create tmp files. Now the next screen appears...

Ok, thank you, it works .
My ftp client didnot upload files, and I didnot notice it.

Maybe the admin of XOOPS could add that it is possible to change error reporting in install.php - it could be helpful for some newbie like me

Hello again,
now I have changed error_reporting(E_ALL) in file index.php in install directory and now it shows me this (and a lot of notice warning - no important) -

Fatal error: Class XoopsTplfileHandler does not exist
Handler Name: tplfile in /DISK3/WWW/hvalur.org/xoops/include/functions.php on line 564

it agrees - php scripts is not able to create tmp files,

but what to do now ?

thank you for help.
Anyway - according to help on Blank page - i changed the line in common.php to show all errors,
display-error is ON as shows phpinfo,
but i do not get an error message.

As I guess the php script fails to create or put the newly created html templates to database, but why?

One statement more - when I deleted database tables in MySQL admin, and continue without them the next screen appeared, telling me that i could not have continued. With the tables the blank page appears after filling the admin info and password.

I use MySQL 4.1.14 - it should be MySQL 3,23.
Is this the problem?
I thought higher versions are more powerfull, but this is probably the fault.
Is there a chance to use the XOOPS with my mysql?

The same message if i use just the root address.

The installation as i saw was not finished, but why?
I looked at the tutorial and i found out that next screen should inform about inserting some rows into tables, so i went to MySQL databaze through phpmyadmin and there were the rows, (the number of rows agreed), but the screen would not appear. (and if process continued i could not say)

I have found out what version of php i use (i hope it helps)
there it is - php info (maybe the problem would be in php settings, but i dont know)

the wizard says

Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou (the rest is red) /DISK3/WWW/hvalur.org/go_1/html.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnouhttp://www.go_1.hvalur.org/html.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou mysql.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou xoops.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou localhost.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou c.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou c.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou d.
Nepodařilo se uložit proměnnou 0.

Nastavení bylo v pořádku uloženo do souboru mainfile.php.

Good afternoon. I have just tried to install XOOPS on my server. But i had this php message after i tried to save the settings in installation wizard -

could you help me with the problem?

As i guess the settings is saved to mainfile.php...
(so it does not matter if i put the data correctly or not)

and so next dialog shows me the warning i stated and only first box is green , the others are red...
