Yes I bet that would work, but then the blocks would show on all pages of the module (news in my case), I just want them on the start page though :/

I made a fresh install of XOOPS 2.2.3 and I am having the problem that my blocks don't show up on the start page when I choose a module to be displayed as the start page. I never had that problem before and on another install the blocks show up with the news module on the front page. o_O

Okay, just tried again on my fresh install and it worked! But why didn't it work? I'd like to fix it on my other site instead of starting from scratch... (Plus on a fresh install I am having the problem that when I select a module as start page, the Top Page blocks are not shown...)

Um, doesn't that mean that is WAS a XOOPS issue?
Anyway, I am still having the problem and also have it when making a fresh install!?

I am having the problem that mails are not send at all. When I register a user everything works fine, but the activation email is not sent. PHP Debug gives no error messages.
When I want to send an email to users through the Admin Panel it doesn't work too.
I tried PHP Mail() and sendmail, with no luck. Any ideas?

Hey!
I want to customize the user info page and place i.e. the avatar at the top right, and the other bits of info whereever I like. To do so, I need to access the fields directly. Can this be done without hacking the module? Like "Username: <{$categories[0].fields[uname].value}>"

With talunceford's code I am getting a "member function on a non-object" type of error. Must be something with the way $xoopsUser is accessed? Can someone post corrected code that works with XOOPS 2.2.2?
