Yes, I did.
As written before I made a mod of the newBB 2.3, meaning I changed the php code, the templates, etc.

Therefore, I only have the choice to stick my older xoops/newBB or make a complete re-work of my website...

Thanks anyway,

Both "Frameworks" and "xoopseditor" packages are required by this module.

Having installed the modules, I was able to update to 3.08. But now my design is completely messed up *SIGH*

This somehow keeps me away from really updating to the latest versions

I tried to upgrade from 2.3 to 3.08

- put the newbb 2.3 in debug mode
- empty cache and template_c
- delete newbb 2.3 directory
- copy newbb 3.08 directory
- hit update in the module menu

result: blank screen, nothing works anymore.
I need to delete newbb3.08 and copy newbb2.3 back to the modules directory. Than it works again.

So.. what's the way to upgrade to 3.08 ?

Thanks Ingo

Hi Marco,

>> hum, can't you port those modification in 3.08?
Currently, I do not see any alternative
Question would be if the efforts porting the mods from 3.08 to my 2.3 or adapting 3.08 to my mods.

>> ==> hum, first upgrade, on your 2.2x XOOPS site,
>> newbb from newbb2.3 to newbb3.08, with the 3.08
>> embedded upgrade script. Then upgrade your
>> website to 2.3
I imagined that...

So.. in general.. no easy way...

Thanks anyway
Ingo

Hi,

I read that topic already, but I do not want to upgrade to newbb 4.0 (I also tried newbb 3.0.8 which works with XOOPS 2.3.0).

But... I need to stick to newbb 2.3 because I made changes on that which I want to keep. Also, how can I update to newbb 4.0 if newbb 2.3 does not even work with XOOPS 2.3?

So.. Any hints on getting newbb 2.3 compatible with XOOPS 2.3.0 ?

Thanks Ingo

Hi,

I upgraded from XOOPS 2.2.3 to XOOPS 2.3.0 with an installed newbb 2.3. After the upgrade only a blank window is shown when on the forum. A fresh installation of newbb 2.3 for XOOPS 2.3.0 does not work at all. A blank screen is shown during installation. That's it. It cannot be installed.

Any hints on this ?

Thanks Ingo

Hi,

just wanna say that I am joining the club, having the same problem, doing the same things with the same version as andersa Clearing cach doesn't help. Any suggested code change didn't help either.

Hi,

thanks for pointing to that thread, but it didn't help. I posted in that thread. There seems to be more people having this problem.

Hi,

I want to confirm andersa on this bug. I am using 2.2.4, too and I have exactly the same problem.
I looked up all the suggestions but it seems they are already in the code. But the problem is still there and its a bit annoying.

Hi,

I have the same problem (using XOOPS 2.2.4). Is there any solution to this problem or is it a BUG ?

Ingo
