I am working with an uncloned copy of Smartsection and having the same problem. I have checked and double checked all permissions and even registered users cannot view the content in this module.

I am at my wit's end with this project. Does anyone have a suggestion that I can try?

Website URL:http://www.vanderbilt.edu/americas

XOOPS Version: XOOPS 2.2.3 Final

SmartSection Version: 2.13

PHP Version: 4.3.9

MySQL Version: 4.1.20

Server Software: Apache

User's Browser: behavior is present in all browsers under OSX, WinXP and Vista

Note: on the staging server, SmartSection works fine ... no problems. This issue is only present on the live server.

FWIW. The problem had nothing to do with XOOPS. The host had misconfigured something on the server.

Hello

I have checked the FAQ and verified that I am using the correct uid/pwd. The database has not been compromised and I can still access it in phpmyadmin.

I cannot, however, find a way to change the password in phpmyadmin. The host is not much help here. Is there something else I can do to resolve this issue?

In addition, I am still not clear on what causes this error to spontaneously appear or on what I can do to prevent it.

Please advise.

I am having the same issue on a site that receives very little traffic. It was suggested elsewhere that the database password should be changed, but I"m unable to do that at this time. Is there another solution?

Suggestion to change pwd:

This page sheds some light on what might be happening, but I am not using an .htaccess file and am am accepting cookies from the domain.

http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:523TOm5BXB4J:kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.redirection-limit+%22that+the+server+is+redirecting+the+request+for+this+address+in+a+way+that+will+never+complete.%22&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=10&gl=us&client=firefox-a

Quote:
HTTP is the application-layer protocol that most web pages are transferred with. As part of the HTTP specification, servers can send redirects - an instruction that the browser should try to get the content from another URL. Because one URL could redirect to another and the other could redirect to the first, causing an infinite loop, a limit is placed on how many redirects can occur on one request. This preference controls that limit.

When the redirection limit is reached, you will get one of the following messages:

* The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete. Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site? NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.
* Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
* Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.

Hello all

I have moved my XOOPS installation to a new server and am having trouble accessing the "content" and "tiny content" modules. Clicking on a link to either module gives the following error: "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete".

In addition, the admin links to add/edit content in both modules seem to be disabled. Clicking on them produced no effect.

Other modules; Liaise, Downloads +, WF-Links work fine.

Any ideas how I could resolve this issue?

thanks in advance. A system overview is below:

To those of you who build/host XOOPS sites for others:

How do you train your end users in the use of Xoops? Have you developed your own in-house tutorials? I've noticed that the big online tutorial developers like DemoDemo.com and DemoWolf.com do not offer anything for Xoops.

I have added a custom field to my contact form. It contains a product ID that the user enters when registering. I would like to populate the custom field with the corresponding value from the db.

I'm am relatively new to XOOPS and this is my first experience with Liaise. Is there is a way to retrieve a value and display it in a custom form within the framework of Liaise?

How do I pull a value from the db and include it in a Liaise form?
