Ok call me an idiot but I opened the floodgate of security and gave all of the aformentioned groups total control(i didn't give annonymous users above read and write). the website popped up. Thank you for your input and I will let you know how it turns out.

p.s. I do like XOOPS however. good job fellas!!! I am looking to do some programming in this area and I thought this would be a good place to start.

Thanks again.

on top of that, check if your templates_c directory is read-only. It should not be.

I gave everyone(all groups including the everyone group) full control on all of the folders in mydomain. Incidentally, I didn't see any of the afformentioned files in the templates_c folder, if that means anything.

:S

Greetings -

You are running on a windows system, so does that fact that you have forward slashes '/' as separators rather than backward slashes '\' make a difference?

If you look carefully you have mixed forward and backward slashes.

fetch(E:/wwwroot/mydomain/templates_c\%%6E^6E8^6E8C036B%%db%3Asystem_block_login.html.php)

Hope That Helps.

Possibly... I don't know, I will check. If it is the case I don't know how to fix it. Unfortunately, I have a windows server. got any suggestions on changing the slashes?

ok, a little update from the last time I posted. I have tried XOOPS versions 1.3.10, 2.0.7.3, 2.0.10.0. I can get 1.3.10 to work but any of the version 2's come up with a blank page. I have even tried upgrading the working website to 2.0.10 and the install goes great but it still comes up with a blank page. It did recognize the current site and database and so asked me questions to upgrade the site. I still get a blank page. I have global variables turned on, I have php set to post all errors. I set XOOPS to debug mode. I still don't get any messages. I am running XOOPS 2.0.10.0, MySQL 3.23.49, php 4.3.10 and IIS 5.0. anybody have any and I mean ANY suggestions.

Thanks,

Ccaveman

a p.s. I just tried going to register.php and admin.php and both pages come up blank.

Please help?

Ok, I will try it. It is just so darn confounding that I can't get any errors and the blank page just comes up. I will check with iis-resources about this. Thanks.

Well, I found out that the 2.x version was having a problem. I installed 1.3.10 and It went right in without much of an issue. ah well, live and learn.

Hi all,

I have the little anoying problem. Just after I finished installation I get a blank page. And yes, I read the smartfaq, etc. all concerning the troubleshooting issues. I am running IIS 5 with php 4.3.10 and MySQL 4.1.10. I have turned on the error posting switch in the websites database using phpmyadmin. I can get to the sql server. I even discovered the problem with installing MySQL in a folder that contains spaces(mysql is now in c:\mysql). After I turned on the error switch I also checked php.ini. error reporting is turned on there also . I don't get any error messages. Just a blank page.

I see all of these XOOPS sites working and I can't find a was to fix this. It is just a tiny bit frustrating . I know that I must be missing something. Any idea's? Be aware I am fairly technically savy but am new to the web management end of things.

Thanks.
