But I already have that set. All I get is the news article Headline! No content. This can't be that hard. I must be missing something simple being a newbie.
I can get content to appear on the top page with Custom Blocks, but why does my news articles or blogs only show headlines and no content!!!!!!!
I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall. I'm sooo frustrated!

Hey, I'm real new here. Is there a way to show more than just the title of a news article or blog like several sentances with a "click for more"? I've got the News and Blog modules installed but all I get is the title and date.

Does anyone out there know how i can show a Title and a few lines of content on the main page (ie: News, Blog). My site only shows the title and date. I have to click on it to show any content... Help! I'm really new at this.

The problem was Norton's Internet Security "IS" (or Personal Firewall), but more so it was cockpit error. There is an option screen for IS where you can open a hole in the firewall for specific websites. But if you add the site as the "www.yoursite.com" it won't work, if you add it with "yoursite.com" then then it works fine.

Thanks, I already knew that and as I mentioned I had opened a hole in my firewall specifically for that. The linked message only told me to do what I had already done. Turns out the problem is the way IS works. The site designation with a www. prefix did not work. I recreated it without the www. and it works fine.

Thanks for the reply. On my home page I have the Headlines showing up for the Recent News section, Is there a way to also display, say the first paragraph or do I need a different module for that?

I'm running Norton's Internet Security 2004 and have noticed that I get errors when submitting changes to xoops. Even though I've poked a hole in the firewall I still have to take it down in order to post reliable. Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

I'm a real newbie here and am only beginning to learn how to get things to appear where I want them. Can someone tell me how to get more content to appear on my News and Weblog blocks?
