Thanks All!

I plan to try several of them over the wekend and I'll report back next week on progress.

Another board sugested WGet (a UNIX tool as I understand it), as a way to get the information.

Thanks again for your suggestions!

Can anyone recommend a tool that will allow us to take a snapshot of our web site? We need the entire web site captured and available for off-line viewing.

Sure, we could install apache, php & MySQL and perform a backup & restore of the entire system on the machine but that's not what we are looking to do.

We want the site to be "flat files" and available in an archive format. As an example, our web site was exactly like this on a specific date (navigation and all content).

Please let me know if you know a tool that could help.

In the case that I am blind or can not read, will you post the link to the patch here?

Thanks!

An addition to my original question; Does anyone know if an apache alias pointing to a module (/myAlias/ --points-to--> /modules/mycontentstuff) would work effectively? Could we use .htaccess to create the alias in a shared hosting environment

Anyone?

Anyone?

Thanks for any ideas!

A little later than expected...

We tried several versions of a script to get the Dymanic path and will stick to what you provided.

Thanks, this will save us some headaches as we build sites for people using shared hosting.

THANKS!

Ha ha ha ha... I understand!

It's quitting time here today. Tomorrow, I'll test the snippet of code you gave on some of our test instances of XOOPS and report back.

Thanks again for your help and suggestions.

Will you give an example on when it does NOT work? Do you simple receive a blank screen or do you have other problems?

Thanks!

A learning Xoopster here...

We were investigating a blank screen problem. Sometimes the site would show fine, other times it would be "blank." Our host's servers "failed over" and the location of our XOOPS root was inherently different on the two (or more) servers they use. As a result of the different machines handling our XOOPS site, the load balanced environment caused blank screens for our site.

My question:

In mainfile.php an absolute path is set for XOOPS_ROOT_PATH. Would it be possible to use the PHP function getcwd() (http://us3.php.net/getcwd ) instead?

Alternatives to the getcwd() could combine $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'] with $_SERVER['SCRIPT_FILENAME'] or a combination of both.

Just curious, and may give it a try to see what happens. has anyone tried it with success?

Thanks for any help!

Using the Export portion of the module we received a blank screen. We have added questions, removed questions, changed wording, changed answers etc. We cloned the survey and retrieved the answers from a new survey with no problems (but it only had three responses).

Has anyone used this module in a traffic environment with about 100-200 surveys completed in 48 hours with success?

Anyone used this module in a production environment?

Thanks!

Our setup: Apache 2, PHP 4.4, XOOPS 2.0.13.2

Mithrandir - THANKS for a great module!
