Removing XOOPS Default Logo in Header

I am trying to remove that damnable little XOOPS logo in the top left corner in the default theme. I have tried modifying the theme.html files to no avail and have scoured almost every other page trying to find its source. I know where the images themselves are, but deleting them just leaves a "Image Not Found" void. I need help!

Modifying Main Menu Navigation

I am having difficulty finding where I can modify the navigation menus, such as Main Menu and User Menu. I want to rename some sections and remove some entries entirely. How do I do this? Thanks.

I have scoured everything from my blocks to my modules looking for a way to have posted news items appear on the front page. I always check the box that says "Publish in Home" and it does nothing. I need help!
