#3. I think this is what you're looking for:

System Admin --> Preferences --> General Settings --> Module for your start page

I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but it's making me crazy.

What I want:
The ability for Webmasters to be able to post their own news, without having to go in and manually approve the story

Where I'm at:
1. I can get the site automatically post all stories from all users without admin intervention if I turn on "Auto Approve without Admin intervention"

2. I can block all users and require admin intervention by changing the above setting

3. Webmasters have Module Admin rights, if I take it away from Registered Users, they can't even view the News section

Any thoughts on what I'm missing? Thanks!

Is there a way to extend the allowable length of user names?

The AMS 2.2 module sorta does that. You can't adjust the blocks (at least not as far as I've figured out), but you can create a Topic Header for each topic. Check out my website (www.burning-river.com) and take a look at the Reviews - Movie reviews, Show reviews and CD reviews all open up with their own "header" atop the page. Hope that helps.

Assigning custom avatars

I have some sers on my site/board that I want to give avatars to but I don't want others to be able to choose those avatars. I've uploaded the custom avatars but can't find a way to assign one to a user. I'm assuming that they won't be able to do it themselves since I'm not displaying the avatars in the list. Is there a way to do this?

I have a link to one page contained in the content of another. The link works, but it launches the page in a separate window. I'm using the Edito module and I've gotten this to work by making the second page "offline" - if I put it online, then the link to the page appears in the Edito block menu (which I don't want). Any thoughts?

Update: my problem seems to be the theme (IS_Urbanize). I tried editing the xoops_content div in theme.html, but it didn't change anything.

My goal: to create pages with iContent and place the link to the iContent index page within the Edito menu block instead of the Main Menu. Doable? I tried just adding the code:

<class="menuMain" href="<{$xoops_url}>/">yourtext</a>

Thanks!

Since upgrading XOOPS (I think) my content in the Tiny Content pages went from being left aligned to centered and I can't figure out how to get it back. Any thoughts?

P.S. I've been playing around and it actually seems to have affected about half of my modules. The News is still left-aligned by all of the stuff in my content modules (Tiny Content and Edito, for example) is now centered.
