Hiya,

I upgraded my Newbb forums from the default one included with the Xoop core to the most recent version. Behind the scenes the forums are fine, but nothing showing up on the main forums page.

I backed up my database. Deleted the old Newbb files in the Mods directory. Uploaded the new ones in their place. Ran the Update script and everything went through fine. Went into Admin/Mods and updated the forums there. Went into Forum prefs and set up my choices there. But when I go to the forums and it looks like this:

I've repeated the steps a couple of times, and even checked each of the folders to make sure graphics and such were in the right place. Did I miss a step? I reread the instructions several times. Now I'm at a loss at what to try next.

Any help would be great, many thanks!

I made a change to my forum based on a suggestion made here:
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=31844&forum=5

Now my forums have completely disappeared! There's nothing there but a blank page.

When I go into the Forums Admin menu and all my forums are still listed there, so I don't think it deleted my database tables. It just not showing them for some reason.

Can someone please suggest how to get them back? How did updating a module thru the Admin/Module menu screw things up??

I'm trying to move some of the base elements of the Newbb forums... I've edited the newbb/template/index.html file and uploaded it but none of the changes take effect. :?

I'm trying to take away the Welcome greeting at the top, and more up the dates and topic count. I also want to rearrange the icons at the very bottom.

I've made sure that the update option in the general settings and I've cleared my cookies. Am I editing the wrong file? I opened several others and didn't see anything pertaining to the 'front page' of the forums.

Many thanks for any help!

I have no clue what I did, but my User and Main menus have completely disappeared.

I've installed Xoop and several of the mods it comes with, and I've setup most of the site already. This has been an awesome system to use everything is very easy organized.

But today I was working on it and added a couple small blocks above the News section, which is set to be the top/main page. I got the blocks in there, and they work just fine.

But then I installed the Sections modules and the User Menu and Main Menus on the left side have disappeared. The new blocks I created disappeared as well.

I went back and made the Sections module inactive but it didn't change anything.

Can someone help? What did I do wrong?
