Yeah, I'm getting the same problem too now. I can uninstall an existing module and it shows up to be reinstalled, but anything that I didn't have on there before won't show up on my admin list to be installed.

Nevermind. I just uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I lost all the media files in my upload dir, but luckily I have backups made everyday so I just have to download the files for that dir and upload them again. I still have no idea why the upgrade would wipe out the player code, and even when I put in the correct code for the players it still wouldn't work.

Anyway, I'll just upload and catagorize them again. Nothing much else to do.

If anyone knows how to prevent this from happening again or maybe a more "safe" way to update the module for the next (if there is one) release I would appreciate the feedback.

ok, I installed and updated the new debaser version .92. Now all the code for the players are gone and so is the information for all the media files I had uploaded to my site. Is there a way I can get the player code back for all of them, plus the information that I have lost?

I mean, it was a simple update and this wasn't supposed to happen. What's up with that?

I'm basicly testing out my site and if it can be hacked. I do know that the password output is encrypted with md5, which is one way. But I have noticed that if you have a generator and use the same password such as "password" the output of the encryption stays the same and doesn't change variables. So, If someone was using something like brute force with the md5 encryter, with a catcher to record the input and output of every character and combination it would be possible to crack (if you even consider it that) the md5 encryption.

I basicly answered my own question. But then I realized that it would require access to the databases, so there are several layers of protection before I could even access the md5 output.

Wheew...this is a little confusing.

Wonder if Symantec would give me money if I actually firgured out a way to crack the encryption?

Lol....yeah right.

(Found It)

Now a new question...how do you decrypt the password stored in the database?

Cool. When do you think you will have the new version ready to release?

Also, I was wondering if there was a way to make the popup window to resize itself to fit the video without scroll bars that I can embed in the player or whatever.

I have the video to play at a fixed size, but sometimes I get a really small window and have to click and drag it to fit the video into the popup.

And yeah, I changed the php.ini file, rebooted the server let the new settings take affect and it works now.

Thanks.

You talking about adjusting the size in the php.ini file? Or the one in the debaser program itself.

I have changed the max upload on debaser to 50megs. SHould I change it to the same in php.ini?

By the way, this is an excellent mod and I do think that you should pursue this even further. I use this mod as pretty much the basis of my site. Thought I should tell you that since I go your attention. hehe.

When I have a user submt an mp3 or such, this one of these happens:

1. The file upload was a success. I can approve it in my admin, BUT, the file doesn't exist. I check the upload directory and the file isn't there. I do have webmaster and registered user upload on, but the file does not show up and is not found. Is there a file I can modify to sned the file directly to the /upload instead of where ever it is going? I have the permission for the folder set right, and have even uploadded myself though the admin. But when a user does, I just get the info for the file and approve it, the file is gone. What is up with that. Also, all special characters like 8, /, ' are not in the file name to prevent the upload and file path to be correct.

2. Also, I sometimes get a file already exists error. I have no idea what that is about.

Help me. My site is very dependent on this mod and I need it to work correcrtly.

I can get everything else to work, and I use the Windows Media Video player to the .wmv files. I get a load, but no video at all. It just pops up and says says nothing.

Am I missing something? I have mp3 files that work without a problem and they are exremely fast at buffer and play time. I just can't get the wmv videos to work.

I was needing this for the music videos I have on the site. If anyone can give me any clues as to what to do to get this to work for all .wmv files I upload I would appreciate it.
