extGallery woks under 2.4.3, but there ist a problem with cloned templates. Have a look at your templates

extgallery has problems with cloned templates. Try to install this module with the default template set.
It works fine for me with x2.3.2b

In X2.3 the cache files are in the folder /xoops_data/caches/... and not in template_c and cache. Delete these files, refresh the modules and t will run.
