yup, i did.

to be more specific, i think the problem is that i'm not recognized as logged-in. and even if i try to log-in using the new template, the index just reloads...

ok i'm a complete newbie at XOOPS but not with PHP, although i'm clueless with OOP so i don't go around hacking things. anyways i really need to clarify some things...

first off, i have tried using some downloaded themes but ran into the same problem all the time: the index page turns out blank. not white blank, the banner is there and the main menu is there, etc., but the other blocks don't show up...and it doesn't even recognize me as logged-in. am i missing something? i have uploaded theme files correctly and the template files using the template manager.

so far this is my foremost concern, coz i'm not planning into making my own themes anytime soon...

also, i want to do some things with my installation, and i need to know if there are hacks/modules that can do this:

1. user registration needs to be approved by the admin first.

2. change the fields of the registration form

finally, i know i can do this but confused on how: i want another News module, that works exactly like the News module but just has a different name, say Updates or something...

sorry for the numerous questions, i'm just excited to have the site up and running the way i want it... :)

p.s.
i just noticed, why doesn't my modules show until the visitor logs in?
