Hi solo,

Now I am curious about Edito. Unfortunately I can not install the module. Webindex and MultiMenu work, but with Edito it says "Module File for Not Found!" Don't know why.

Any ideas? I will try version 2.0 from the Wolfpack so far...

Regards, SOren

Hi,

for two days now I tried out most of the article management modules. They are either to complex, not working properly, or they are all not capable to create a simple block and store the associated content. The last possibility (maybe the most likely one) is that I am too stupid

MultiMenu is my last hope. Its great that it can create blocks, but is it able to store the content as well + providing an editor to work on the content and maybe something to wrap php files??

In my opinion a simple content menu should:
- ask for the title / name of the block it creates
- then allows to specify the categories/links which are to be shown in the block
- at the same time stores the content for this block in a database OR links to a static html file OR wraps php files (+ editor)
=> This would allow the admin to easily display content in a customized block. Without such a module I can create a block on my own, BUT WHERE DO I PUT THE CONTENT.

At the end you have your own block with a name (like MainMenu), some links in this block and when somebody clicks on a link, the content which is e.g. stored in the database is displayed in the center. Is MultiMenu able to do this? Or which module do I have to use for this?? I believe that such a module is very essential and I do not think that it is not developed yet. Please give me some hints where I can find such a module...

Thanks so much, Soren

Multiple sites with multiple languages => How to ?

Dear all,

how do I create multiple sites with multiple language capability? All sites use the same member area.

Specifically I have the following problem (I want to run a site on travel experiences for different countries):

First page => User selects the country which he is interested in (depending on the selection different images etc. shall be used), e.g. UK, USA, AUS

Then I have different content for the different countries like general travel tips, visa etc. (I have this content in multiple languages), ie I need a block section for every country so that I can specify which other blocks shall be displayed in that category.

As far as I realised it, I will have to use a content module to deal with this. The module would have to be able to create blocks for every country, right? Which module allows for multiple languages?

I hope I made my problem clear and would be really thankful for some help.

Mod for Profiles or alternatively product catalog

Dear all,

I do look after a website for student hostels. This site displays certain information for all hostels to give students all information in a consistent and clear way. I think about changing the site to XOOPS because I then can add community functions etc.

How can I get my hostel profiles into Xoops?? I currently have a list of student hostel names and when you click on it you get information regarding this hostel in ten categories (e.g. rooms, location, price etc.). The categories are always the same. I am pretty sure that it is possible to do something like this with Xoops, I just don't know how. But similar methods will be used for product catalogs or similar, I guess. I would be superb if I could allow specific users to change the content of ONE of the profiles so that a person from each hostel can regularly update their own profile.

Thanks in advance for all hints!

Mod to create Groups of interest (not user groups)

Hi,

is there a mod which allows users to create a group of interest so that other members can join that group, communicate and maybe can specify meetings. I am looking for something to manage associations.

Example:
Somebody wants to set up a group on his home town XY. He creates the group. Other members from that town XY may join and they then can communicate about topics regarding town XY. Ideally the creator/moderator of that group can include information for meetings.

Thanks, Soren
