Thanks jlm69, Yup, that's what I tried when I found the error msg came out -- due to the fact that I have updated my MySQL to version 5 & it was giving an error with grant permission or sth. Hence I looked for the soln and got one that i have mentioned.

I have got the soln.

The problem was not in xoops.

If you have recently updated your MySQL to version 5 then there is a need to Update the grant too!

Then the problems I have had will not be there.

I am confident enough to creat tables and fields in PHPMyAdmin, but the question is where in XOOPS have you got the FIELD names for the tables to create?
Because in order to create the tables I need the number & name of the fields!

Yes it is just these 4 tables. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't see any limitations on the table either, because I tried creating another DB in MySQL and it happened the same. Installation doesn't go any further! Have u got any idea on it?

I just have installed XOOPS version 2.0.7
and at the end I got this msg:

Failed creating table xps_xoopscomments.
Failed creating table xps_group_permission.
Failed creating table xps_imgset_tplset_link.
Failed creating table xps_tplfile.
-----------
what should i do to get past this stage?

Would be highly obliged.
