Problem solved... don't know what was the thingie.

On one of my websites I've NewBB 2 RC3 running. Due to several reasons I created a group staff that should have acces in a few forums. Only this is not working. This is what I did in XOOPS:
- Create a group called 'staff'
- Set group acces to the modules, like 'registered users'
- Added members to the group 'staff'
- Removed those members from the 'registered users' list
In the forum module:
- Set category acces to all groups (all should have acces)
- Set one forum acces only to 'staff' and 'webmasters'
- Removed acces 'registered users' from that forum

But the group 'staff' can't enter/view that forum because it doesn't have the right rights. When I give 'registered users' acces again the 'staff' group can view that fora. Sounds strange to me because they aren't in the 'registered users' group anymore.

Does anybody have an idea on this?

In my spare time I made a website for a volonteers group near my place. Tonight they have their annual meeting so I finished the project and want to ask you what you (dis)like about the site.

I made my own theme and changed some variables and templates. In my opinion it needs to look clear and easy.

And about the content.. I'm not responsible for that so it is a little bit empty.

Some interesting options you said there.

The fastest solution for me was to take an excisting theme that was already centered. I applied my theme on it an it seems to work perfectly now.

Well, firefox is showing the website like I wanted correctly. I'm still not sure what is going on.

But then I've another question. In my css I can't find a clue where to remove the lines that are around my boxes on the 'startpage'.

Anybody?

Guys I'm strugling with my own theme. I want to center it, and I still haven't found a way to fix it. Looking to other themes won't help me so far so I wanted to ask this in the newbie section.

What am I doing wrong on this site.

Your site looks pretty clear, but new visitors (that have never been on before) won't see what your site is about. You start with your recent topics/comments, is that the main thing you wanna share with your visitors? For members it would be interesting to see what the latest comment/topic is. But new visitors won't give a shit at the first look. I would put some news on the top page, but that one is empty.

So I tried to look at your shop, but you need to register for that. In short the layout is ok but the content you're showing is not having anything extra's for new visitors. They won't look in the forum the first place, I didn't eiter and still don't know what your site is about. Cheers.

And calender is not written as callender ;)

Hi, I looked at your site and here I have some comments for ya:
- Try to avoid many different fonts.
- Don't use many different sizes one a page.
- Use a closing line on the right of your tables.

Because of the variate between the fonts the site is a little bit disoriantating for me. You nice table borders, but why not on the most important section on the right? I have the feeling that the text can 'walk away'.
When you've finished that try to add minor graphics. Not that graphics are always good for a site. Mines is plain atm.

Although for a beginner it is ok.

When posting a comment and the user wil use html in their post the preview plugin shows the post with the parsed html. But when your post is submitted it shows up the plain html. You can check it in this post where I used html. It will show correctly in preview release.
