I had Wf-section version 1 for a long time and after it was sort of abandoned and until picked up again I was stuck with it. I found that over at the smartfactory, smartsections has a function to upgrade from WF-sections.

I installed smartsections and then ran the script and i had thousands of pages and images and all migrated / updated without a hitch, including page hits /users, and post dates.

Of course then your using smartsections, but well I guess thats up to your personal preference. Though I have no problems with smartsections

I hope this is of some assistance to you.

Cheers

Sorry sport no backup no restore. Once anything is deleted from the database its gone.

First golden rule.... backup, backup, backup.

Hi

I have been storing my images in the MySQL database as BLOB since this feature became available with XOOPS. On my system it does not slow anything down and has been running well and with no problems to report.

Advantage is that yes the database grows in size but when one wishes to back up ones site it is done by simply downlaoding the database, pictures and all. A restore is also a breeze. Myalbum has a XOOPS image manager hook which allows the BLOB data to be used within the myalbum module, nice feature GI JOE

Cheers

Hmm think I shall wait and get the official download from Micky$oft. They postponed the release of SP2 because it was not ready yet, so I would guess that the version on offer here will be obsolete by the time they do release the official version.

Cheers though

If your modules or blocks do not update with in the max time of the cache limit then set the cache time to its limit.

Gzip within XOOPS compresses the PHP scripts and fires them in compressed form to the viewers browser and their browser decompresses them. Turn it on and if you notice a speed increase then your set. gzip is a favourite of google pages, hence their speed etc.

PHPINFO enviromental conditions should advise if your host is running mod_gzip, in all probablility it is, but take nothing for granted ask them or if your using phpadmin check from the link in that.

Moves fine here. For speeding your site up a bit try the cacheing features, i.e. blocks that dont update often, modules and so on. Is gzip enabled on your xoops? Is mod_gzip enabled on your hosting server?

I veiwed your site on T1, Scotland

Clues please.
