Hey all...

I'm fairly new to XOOPS (started using it less than 3 weeks ago),

Love it.

I'm finding it ultra easy to change the look and to customize it to my needs.

The first site I'll show was my first XOOPS project, and I put a lot of time into it. The theme is basically a redesign of my old site. It's meant to be murky:
http://www.rantmorgan.com

This second site is less than a week old. I used a theme I grabbed from somewhere, and then modified it to suit my needs. This site however, I've changed the templates and modules greatly to suit the sites needs - including a complete redesign of the mylink module:
http://www.beated.com

check it...

I'll have a go at it.

I'm looking into it right now. No promises though.

Got it all figured out.

In case anyone would like to know this for future reference, in the php files that feed the templates (in the case of the mylinks module they are the index.php, singlelink.php, and viewcat.php)

You need to remove the following:

$new = newlinkgraphic($time, $status);
$pop = popgraphic($hits);

From all the files.

They have their own lines, and are close to the bottom.

The more I work with xoops, the more I love it. Not only does this community kick ass, its far far easier to work with than anything I've ever used before.

You can check out all the work I'm doing with XOOPS to customize it to my needs athttp://www.beated.com (still a work in progress)

Or at another page of minehttp://www.rantmorgan.com

Cool. Which php page is feeding it though? I can't find it. I've searched the
/public_html/modules/mylinks/
module folder, and can't seem to find it. Is it outside the module folder?

I thought it would be in /public_html/modules/mylinks/include, but still nothing.

I must be missing something simple.

Yes and no.

It will still follow the link fine for now, but the CID has a wide range of purposes in sorting links, and although it will work fine now, it may be a problem in future versions of XOOPS if you change it.

I'm not sure it would make a different to SE's anyways though. The major problem with search engines in the query string "?". Although several search engines allow the string, a few still don't.

Google loves it.

That help?

in the mylinks section, there's a little function that goes something like this:

<{$link.title}>

I need to know how to edit what that spits out.

Please direct me to the right area, I cannot find the damn thing.

Lykos Syndication FIXED!!!

Not sure where to post this information, but i've updated and fixed the Lykos Syndication module. It's now working PROPERLY with XOOPS 2.0.6

I can't verify older versions, but it probably wouldn't work with versions that didn't include the CID db function.

The main problem was the way it accessed the database. It didn't grab the required information to properly make the rss links. This occured I'm sure when XOOPS changed the way it handled the mylinks and mydownloads CID feature, and the program was never updated.

I've updated the module so it provides proper links in the feeds. Now when someone has your feed on their page, and they click a link, it acutally does what its supposed to and take the person to the link, or downloads the file.

I recommend turning on the "show link in frame" feature.

I've also updated the xml, rss, and js buttons so they actually look proper.

I have nowhere to post the download, so if anyone wants to host the file, its 33kb, or just e-mail me at "rm at rantmorgan.com" and I'll send it off to you.

Maybe a moderator could put this post where it belongs. (not sure where that is)

What Lykos Syndication Does - Automatically sydicates the following modules with RSS, XML, and JavaScript:
News, Links, Downloads

Cheers.

Link Mod - Help Removing Pics

I can't figure out how to remove the little pictures that come up under the web links section.

The little link bubbles that say "new" "popular" "updated" and they appear just to the right of the link.

I think it's tied in to $link_title but i'm not good with php code, or where to edit it. I use XOOPS because of my poor programming skills.

Please help me?

Thanks.
