I run XOOPS for a while now. And are very satisfied. I thought I should upgrade from 2.05 to 2.06 and there was that folder called 'diffs'. From there I want to go to 2.07 and in that patch there is a folder called 'diff'.
I don't know where to put those files.
Can anybody tell me?

hello all,

Something I wondered about since I started using XOOPS and the (buid in)news module.
In the admin part I only get the first 10 articles in a list, I would like to see them all. On the website in question some are not on the front page and only viewable though links in other articles. So the front of the website itself can't help me either.

How and where can I change this?

greeting erik.

I have given the user all rights beforehand.
Can it be I have to execute SQL or restart the MySQL database srever to really see the change?
(Like I have to restart the apache server when I change the config file that include the different virtual servers.)

Checked and rechecked the database names and permissions and the mainfile.php
Can't find anything wrong.

Then I re-entered the pasword from the user that has permission to this database. (using webmin-servers-mysql database server-global options - user permissions) Saved it and saved the list again, and it works!

I'm one happy bever who will start working on his new lodge.
Thanks

gr. Erik

hello all,

I'm using XOOPS for more than a year now and I'm using it in three different social projects. I even used it for my personal log.
You should say I must be familiar with installing/moving XOOPS but this time is different again and I think I made all the right changes.

This time I'm moving it within the same server but between virtual servers.
The steps I took:
I moved all the XOOPS files from one html folder to the other.
Then I changed the database name corresponding to the new project.
Made a new database user for this database.
(using webmin - servers - MySQL database server)
Changed the mainfile.php the way it should.
Checked all permissions on the files according to
http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=FAQMoving
http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=TroubleshootingBlankPage

Can anybody tell me why I still get this error message?

Quote:

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file class/database/databasefactory.php line 34

The help pages could not help me, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

greetings Erik

Tried adding a background image to the theme.html and tried to put it in the stylesheet. no success.
Is this the right place for this or should I do this somewhere else?

stylesheet:
body {
font-familyVerdanaGenevaArialHelveticasans-serif;
color#1D1D1D;
font-size11px;
background-imageurl(../image.jpg);
}

greetings Erik

Got it. How actually is a bit vague, thought I tried it before...

theme.html
<body background="<{$xoops_imageurl}>images/logos/IMG_0856.jpg" bgcolor="#96DDBE" leftmargin="10" topmargin="10" marginwidth="10" marginheight="10" rightmargin="10">

In another post/question of mine Mithrandir answered this question too (indirectly). News 1.2 will have the feature to restrict a topic.

Thanks again Mithrandir, always to the rescue!
Is news1.2 still under development?
Also read that you can create a restricted topic, another wish come true.

thanks Erik

Is something like this possible?

I would like to use only headlines and a short summary of the article.
So the text would be to short to make it look good in just one column.

When they choose an article it will become one column again.

can anybody help me.

greetings erik

Ignore them?

For me there is no way of knowing what they mean.
I got 4 notices that come back time and time again.
It has to do with the default_theme en the resource_db.php.

Does anybody have a clue?
These are the notices (looked at the resource_db.php but what should I change?

Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: default_theme in file class/smarty/plugins/resource.db.php line 17
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: default_theme in file class/smarty/plugins/resource.db.php line 20
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: default_theme in file class/smarty/plugins/resource.db.php line 71
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: default_theme in file class/smarty/plugins/resource.db.php line 74
Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: file_path in file class/smarty/plugins/resource.db.php line 96

some others are:
Notice [PHP]: Undefined offset: 3 in file modules/xoopsgallery/blocks/xoopsgallery_blocks.php line 52
Notice [PHP]: Undefined index: xoops_lblocks in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 626

Thanks for your time and expertise.

erik
