I'm not exactlt new to xoops, but I wasn't sure where to post this.

I set up a XOOPS site and made a custom template at the time of version 2.0.6. I've recently sold the site with content, and I was asked whether it was worth upgrading after the transfer.

I've successfully transferred the domain, files, and database, now I'm looking at upgrading. Is it neccessary, and is it an easy process ?

If it's just an upgrade I'll do it, if major changes to the template system etc have been made I might not.

There's a competition now on !

If you can get your page to the top of google's results, you can win an Apple iPod or a Sony 17" LCD monitor. Check out: Nigritude Ultramarine Competition For more details.

I should have thought to check that out, thanks.

I was just going on the fact that I saw only 10 or so posts in the list of posted articles in the news admin area.

Another stoopid question answered, thanks again !

Every time I post a news article, (almost daily) another is deleted (the oldest one).

How can I stop it from doing so, so I can have all my news posts archived ? I'd like for people to be able to read back through all the old posts.

*doh*

I went ahead and added a shout box in a block using the oxyshout script.

Now I'll go and have a look at the module. I should have chacked that first I suppose...

I suppose it's like a miniature forum, with only one topic, all old posts get replaced as the new ones come in. It runs down the side of your page, and you don't need to register to post.

www.tag-board.com was the first example i found. Just looking for something to keep my users entertained...

I actually think they're a bit tacky, but fun nonetheless.

Ok, maybe this is a silly idea, but I was thinking of adding a tag board to my site. Is the easiest way to just make a custom block with the tagboard in an iFrame ?

Yes !

Thanks again. I don't see why the block permissions shouldn't be enough. It's confusing to have to set the permissions twice in two locations.

I added a new block with links to friends sites, but it only shows up for registered users. It doesn't show up on the blocks admin page for anonymus users, so how do I enable it to be shown at all times ?

My prolem is with the user and main menus, which stick out further than the main left column, into my center column.

Screen Shot

I haven't been able to spot the cause of the problem, anyone come across this before ?

The other problem is the block contents being seperated from the block title, I'm trying to get rid of the gap inbetween. Any ideas guys ? Thanks again !
