i'm writing now... it has been passed very long time since tha last time I wrote here. this is because the XOOPS cms that I used is perfect and since 2002 it works fine.
may I ask 2 question?

1. I have 1.0 RC 3.0.5 .. can I upgrade that? Is important or if the web site work fine is not really important?

2. When I write email from the administrator panel.. and I put €(euro) symbol in the text box. . the user that receive the mail see ? and not the euro character. how to solve?

Wiki Manual page is wrong.. because if I only put new files (xoops 2) overwriting older 1.3 site.. I get a newer installation.. It doesn't show me any kind of UPGRADE database!!
in fact Install.php includes mainfile.php that is just overwritten! Then I modified data into mainfile.php..

yesss!!! the procedure starts and go on 'til the end.


but..
another problem is in the net..

after upgrading tables and skeleton of XOOPS site, modules, news, comments... I go in the main index.php page...

the page is blank

After reading this vademecum DocWiKi I've done these simply 6 steps:

1) ftp my entire site from www.yyy.zzz/site to local hard disk

2) re-ftp local copy in www.yyy.zzz/site2

3) with phpmysqladmin 2,5,5 i'd backed up my db1

4) in db.sql I'd changed every link to www.yyy.zzz/site
to a link www.yyy.zzz/site2

5) create db2 and merged entire structure

tested my new site --> OK

6) then I've overwrited new XOOPS 2 (downloaded today!!) into new site

launched .. and Wrong!!!!!

It give me the forst page of setup, It doesn't recognize that there is an old site to migrate!!!!
