So what's the deal with this hack? is it good or not?

What's the problem people say with security? I guess I do not understand....

What about regarding cookies and tracking of PIDs from banner ads (for those of us using banner ads which use a PID)

w4z004,

Let me see if I understand correctly.....

phpAdsNew can be used in XOOPS just by placing it in the modules folder and "activating" it? I thought it was a stand-alone PHP script.....that's where I got confused...

I have looked at their EXTENSIVE manual and did not find anything in there about XOOPS integration, so I would hope you could let me know how to get it active and the best way to get it to work.....

Thanks much!

In another message, w4z004 stated:

Use the phpadsnew module.
A professional banner module.

Since I did not want to go off-topic in the other thread, I am asking it here....

w4z004 (or anyone else), how do we get phpAdsNew to work with Xoops? I thought there was an issue with counting links and such with XOOPS and external ad management programs? Or am I mistaken?

I am developing a site which would greatly benefit from the extra features of phpAdsNew, but don't know how to get it to work with Xoops.....

Any help would be appreciated.....
Thanks in advance.

Okay, I did a search and cannot find exactly what I am looking for....

I just installed XOOPS (my 3rd install) and there is something above my news stories on my main page which is bugging me.

There is a "pull-down" menu about the news topics that I would like gone....how do I get rid of this?

To see what I mean, go to: Test Site

Above the "Test of News" article, there is something which remains that should be gone. Already been in news prefs and in blocks to make sure this is not a configuration issue (unless I overlooked something)....and then I went into modules and "updated" the News Module to make sure....

Still no dice....how do I get rid of this "center block"? (and click here for a screen shot of an admin view which shows no center blocks enabled: Admin Screenshot

Any help would be appreciated....
Thanks!
