I just started having the same problem. The second window will pop up (http://mycommunity.com/site/banners.php?op=click&bid=8) but will remain blank and not load the Click-through URL. This is in IE only. FireFox seems to work fine.

I also noticed that when I visit the site (http://www.mycommunity.com) with the www. in front, the banners will do what is described above but if the address does not have the www. (http://mycommunity.com) the banners work fine? Can anyone shed some light.

thanks in advance,
Doug

I notice in your example that your banner url (1st url you provided) doesn't have the www. in it. If you have it that way in your banner administration then this could be the problem.
I click on, or copy and past the 2d URL you provided for direct to mycommunity.com and either way works fine. I am using IE. So I really think both of you guys problems are within your banner administration and how you have your url typed in for the click through.

When I download the respective file there are three files in the zip. Two zips: (one for default theme example and one for the code hacks) and one other file xoops2.0.13.2.multiblock.patch. What is this file? What if anything am I suppose to do with it?

I tried to do as someone suggested in the threads and uploaded the files but it didn't work.

Anyone know? Please help. I was using this for my previously installed XOOPS 2.2.4 version and it was great. I have since chosen to downgrade back to 2.0.13.2 and would like to have this very valuable and usefull capability back.

P.S. I hope this or something similar is going to be in the future versions.

Not sure if you have checked these out, but one of them may suit your needs or be able to be modified to your particular needs.

Thanks to all for your help in defusing me.

I feel a little better now. I never realized until I started with XOOPS as well as when I looked at other CMSs too that I must be somewhat dislexic. I seem to have great difficulty when it comes to 2.X , 2.2.X, 2X, 2.0.X, and so on. I never have actually figured out completely what the X is but I'm getting there.

Herko- Your explanation was fine and I appreciate it too. I do wish it had come sooner but as you all have now pointed out I can work around it and update again when 2.4 (see-I am getting it???) is released.

It wasn't necessarily your explanation Herko or anything to do with your News. I think it was mostly everything that followed under your News that caused me the despair.

Thanks again guys-for hanging in there with me.

I am running the XOOPS 2.2.4 version. I had the 2.0.13.2 version several months ago but updated to the 2.2.3 then the 2.2.4 because that is what it seemed was the latest and greatest. So far things seem to be okay with the 2.2.4 version but I am actually new to all this so I really wouldn't know either way, especially the way things have been going.
When I first updated I went to the length at the top of the xoops.org home page which said to get the latest version of xoops. The page, information etc are in know way what they are today.
Today I find out I shouldn't have updated to the at that time so called latest and greatest XOOPS version. I come to xoops.org because all indications are that is where I am supposed to come for support in english.
All frustrations asside I really don't know what to do now! I have devoted many hours, days, weeks, months etc only to find out today that the darn thing isn't the right one.
I am running XOOPS 2.2.4. Do I need to go back to 2.0.13.2? I am so #OOPS# confused right now I don't even know what to aksd;flakjdfkdf ask anymore!

You can create a MyPage Module or use another content wrapper if you want. I used MyPage instructions and created a welcome module with what I want seen for the start page.

After creating your module you can make it the start page by selecting it as the Start Page in your Administration/system/preferences/general settings.

You can find MyPage information here:
MyPage FAQ

or the developers page:

Macambridge.com by Jack

He also has a very nice manual called XOOPS for Dummies which has proven very helpful.

Happy Xooping!

I had a similar problem once. What I discovered was I needed to add an "if" in my theme for the left blocks otherwise my coding was permanently fixing the left column because in actuality that is what I told it to do.
What I did was add the below just after the <tr> of the the left blocks table:
<!-- Display left blocks start-->
<{if $xoops_showlblock == 1}>
Then closed the "if" just after the:

<!-- End left blocks loop -->
</td>
<{/if}>

In your case I think if you do this it may work for you:

(FROM YOUR THEME)
<tr>
<TD vAlign=top width=100%>
<TABLE cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width=100% border=0>
<TR>
<!-- Display left blocks start-->
<{if $xoops_showlblock == 1}>

<TD valign="top" width="180"><br /><{foreach item=block from=$xoops_lblocks}>
<{include file="378xps/theme_blockleft.html"}>
<{/foreach}>
<!-- End left blocks loop -->
</TD>
<{/if}>

You may have to play around with it a little bit because I couldn't quite figure out all your theme coding.
