Yes, I did purchase it and it worked perfectly with my 2.0.3 version of Xoops. Didn't have to hack anything. Although I might to add new features. ;)

You do need to make some chat script changes, but there is a detailed textfile on it.

Changes include, how many members in a room, server settings (Not taken from mainfile.php), and some other cool features, like opening and closing times of chat.

There is no back admin, when a site admin joins chat they are made moderators auto (A request I made and was completed)

Hope this helps.

I've been using this Chat for a while now, I recomend it, but not sure about any security issues?

I originaly approached this developer a few months ago, and requested for him to make it xoopsed, which he did for me, it is an excellent script and he listens to all suggestions, here is a comment found at the bottom of his site:

Timothy Bowers athttp://www.my-site.net for his language assistance and sponsorship

Found here:http://www.tufat.com/chat.php

I feel this is far better than any other chat at the moment, as it supports private messages, multi-rooms, private rooms, smilies (Not XOOPS smilies) and some other cool features, well worth $5.

I'm just gald to see it's the xoopsed version is available for all.

Take care and speak soon

what do you think the 'standard' for this is? i've been looking at...curious about...wanting to setup...or write..or port...a webmail system that would be integrated into xoops, so i can just goto my site and when i log in, it'll tell me if i have new messages as well as allow me to view them.

the question is, what do other people want? is something on the level of say yahoo/hotmail needed? or is the integration of something like squirrelmail/etc good enough? when i say integration, i mean having a config where you'd setup your imap/pop server/servers. not having to log in after you've clicked on a link. and possibly importing that mail into the XOOPS pm folder...which then leads to folder support/filters/etc...

I've been looking for a mail script for a while, I ended up going for hive mail although it seperate to xoops, costs and seems to have many problems.

I wanted a script to be able to offer a mail service simler to hotmail/yahoo, working of one pop catch all then delivering to user accounts, which is what Hivemail.com does, there is however another script which does not cost, it's a german script with english lang too and can be found @ the following url:

http://www.b1g.net/

Now back to the original post, I've been using XOOPS for a long time now, I've tried many of the others and XOOPS through my tests was and is imo the leading OSCMS, although we may lack some modules, these will come with time, at the moment we have a very stable and advanced cms developed by a very supportive, active and dedicated team, with a very bright future, and as boobtoob said we have more quality users and contributors than quantity and I too like it this way.

Kind regards
Timothy Bowers

This will be an excellent edition to an already excellent module.

I can't wait to take the next version for test run.

But this is a beta version. Is this version working fine? I know it's a beta version, but just to know if there's some big problem if I install and use it.
Do you know when a final release will be ready? I can read Deutsch!

This version is working fine, however I cannot endorse or promote the use of this module yet, as it is only in beta stages, I do know that all the tables in this beta version are the same as the independant OSC, with the exception of the xoops_ prefix, so if you create a OSC seperate, then at a later date once in alpha, you can just insert the tables in and then it will be xoopsed, which is what I'm doing.

as for when the final will be released I don't know, but from speaking with the module dev, there will be another release soon.

Check out their CVS Dir. for updates to files, as I think the latest packaged files are quiet outta date, but don't quote me on that one.

Hope this helps

Although it's not directly what your after, there is UserPoints V2 which maybe of interest and was ported by Catz to 2.0.* and can be found @http://wfsections.xoops2.com/modules/mydownloads/ where members recieve points for forums, news posts, etc.

Hope this is of some help.

Yeah I'm tom fromhttp://modules.xoops2.com I have great interest in this module as it's something I require, I know a few do and I've been talking with some via E-mail, including a gentleman called Bill Johnson.

Some one did take up the project but as you know sometimes things come up in real life which have greater importance, and thats what happened here from tbrillon.

Just to clear up a few things though, I'm not currently developing this module nor hacking it, just making a request like yourself and offering some ideas.

I feel this type of module would offer a great deal to the XOOPS community, there are so many magazine, newspaper and music sites that use subscriptions, plus other sites too, and this would benefit all.

what is OSC

OSCommerce is a shop, found athttp://oscommerce.org/

There are currently two version being modulised at the moment, the one I prefer and has a demo athttp://www.myxoops.info/modules/shop/ and found at ttp://www.myxoopsforge.de/ <--- There is a new and more stable version coming out soon.

The other XoopsOSC makes core changes to XOOPS files which means it will be harder to upgrade XOOPS versions should you need too, whether it be to a better verion or just a security bug fix, but it can be found here:http://www.oldpa.com.tw A thread on this can be found here: xoops shop modules osCommerce

Although there is more work involve in my method of moving groups, it is the safer option for now until a subscription module is out.

OSC can take payments via many online gateways, inc.

Paypal
Nochex
WorldPay

and even cheque or postal order, plus many others.

Hope this helps.

Where can I download this module? I tried to find it on your site but I wasn't able.
Can you put the link here?
Unfortunately I can't understand your language!
thanks

From the looks of it you have to make a purchase of $0 of the XOOPS OSC version then a download link is sent to you.

Also tryhttp://www.myxoopsforge.de/ for a version which doesn't make core changes to xoops.

Apart from what Herko has already commented on, I wouldn't recommend AMember, for many reasons, 1 being it costs, then if XOOPS upgrades and AMember is not compatible, then you may need to pay them again to upgrade their own scripts.

I also so require a subscription mod, but for now I take payments in OSC then move members groups manualy, although this takes more work both on the web accounting, it is the safer option at presant.

Hope this helps.

This is excellent work, you've come a long way over the last year, I used to monitor your progress on the OSC site under the psuedo of GMax21.

Let me guess in order to dl XOSC we need to purchase it for $0 in your shop, excellent.

However with only needing to log in once, I presume you have changed some of the core scripts to merge the two together, is this true before I dl and try?
