But your Website is NOT made in XOOPS!

That hurts!

And how could I have a redirect the "no permission" links to something similar as on:

http://www.stefanosnetwork.com/site/

Click on a picture (e.g. link:

http://www.stefanosnetwork.com/site/modules/myalbum0/viewcat.php?cid=41

and you'll see that in action, i.e. above the standard "system_userform.html" he gets the extra block with the message about reasons to register.

I assume, he is using the hack from GIJoe:

http://www.peak.ne.jp/xoops/modules/news/index.php?page=article&storyid=70

but how does he show the message with the reasons to register in a block above the "registration page"?

Why not? Maybe somebody could make it work for XOOPS then? It's better to have something that works and can be compared to than having nothing at all.

I just looked at the source for the Japanese developed version (2.05 jp) and the specific problem identified has been fixed in this version.

If it's true, we should report it to secunia as a fault alarm.

Interestingly, it seems like the "SQL Injection" issue was discussed there in October 2005, and the main XOOPS Website was made aware of this issue only now. We need to work closer together so we are aware of security issues.

Would you care to update Deepey's posting with detailed steps on how to make it work? This would be very useful.

Thanks....

if you (or anyone esle) can do it better than already developers, so just do it and not talk ABOUT it.
you can contribute.send your hacks and patches tohttp://devteam.xoops.org/ and im totally sure your works will be welcomed from devteam.
just dont said this and that CMS is better and have an active team and everyone works on it like a charm and so on.

Yes, irmtfan, the easiest way is to just kill the messanger. Look, if the issue of communication and team updates is coming up again and again, then there is obviously a problem. Too bad you don't see it.

However, don't forget in regards to the Team Leader part of things - that we're all doing this for love, not money, and sometimes "real life" does get in the way of things.

But this is exactly my point: if you have time, just do it. If you don't have time - acknowledge it and let other people do it, so the project can move on. Let make an OpenSource project like XOOPS a COMMUNITY project, and NOT a project where somebody is still a project/team leader on paper, just because he did something in the past, or because he is a nice person. If somebody is longer than 3 months out - he should resign. Very simple. If he has time again, he can come back and contribute. If somebody REALLY "does it for love", it shouldn't matter to them if they are team members, or team leaders as long as XOOPS moves forward.

As for your point about regular updates to the dev blog I fully agree with you. I know it was Skalpa's intention to regularly post about what he's working on, I don't know why he hasn't. But I agree, a few lines each week, maybe a screenshot or two, would be wonderful.

I also agree with. It seems like the main problem within XOOPS is the perceived "secrecy" of development, i.e. lack of communication. This issue is coming up again and again, but it seems like nobody is listening. Do we have a communication team? We really need to have communication as an integral part of the development process, i.e. the team leaders should provide a monthly status update. And Herko, as the project leader, should be the overall driver behind it. I really would like to see consistent monthly updates on the project.

And to be honest, I am disturbed by some of the team leaders' statements that they don't have time. If they don't have the time, why are they still team leaders? One becomes a team leader because he has the time and skills to make a difference. If he doesn't have the time for a short time, then he should ask other team member to fill in - after all that's why we have teams for. But if the lack of time is becoming more permanent, then PLEASE have the decency to acknowledge that and resign, so other people can take it over! I look at the team structure at:

https://xoops.org/modules/wfchannel/index.php?pagenum=8

and I see some dead wood there. Let's finally clean it up and move forward.
