Cheers for the answer. I do indeed have 2 different sticks of memory, so you could be on the right track. But I have had them in for over 6 months, and only recently have the problems started...

Still, I will borrow some memory and do some tests.

Also it does not seem to be when gaming. Lately I have only been playing Diablo LoD, and have no trouble whatsoever there.

It *seems* to be when I open a few different windows, but it has happened when I have only a textpad open.

All that is needed is some sort of word analyisis done on the article when it is posted to the db, so you don't need to process it more than once. Add a field to news articles table (and other mods too).

You would then need to alter the core so info could be written to the header from within a module (could be a biggie here), and when getting an article, get also the key words.

You are correct, I naivly expected stuff I put in [code ] [/ code] markers not to be parsed...

I suspect that the abilty to change the encoding for feeds is there precisely so admins can override when necessary (for ex when the feed specifies the wrong encoding), but I totally agree that xoopsheadlines should pick that us as default, and let you change it to something else after that...

I will remember that for the rewrite.

A minha pergunta e se um RSS (em brasileiro) VALDIDO passa pelo Xoopsheadlines?[Edit] Ok, nao vi que ja tentaste isto.

E nao da em Xoops?

We know that backend.php does not validate, and I am working on a much better fix. Maybe I will patch backend in the meantime though. [Thoughts on this mod/core teams?]

Feed validator should validate almost EVERYTHING, so that is not the case.

Hardware help needed

Hi All

Was wondering if there are any hardware experts out there who can give me some helping suggestions.

My pc has recently started freezing unexplicably. It is an Athalon 800, 396 Ram, TNT2 Pro 32 MB graphics running WIN XP.

What happens is that the screen freezes, and won't respond to mouse clicks or keyboard, not even Cntrl+Alt+Del. Reboot is the only option.

I am assuming it is a hardware issue, as I have never seen this happen with Software before.

A friend suggested that it *could* be the graphics card being 'underused' but i am not toally convinced.

Help, please

RSS/XML encoding is a deep and murky pond which you want to stay well away from!!!

I don't understand the fucker, and I have been trying to write an rss module for XOOPS for months.

ANYWAY, if the headlines module read the dtd for the feed (which I assume it does not), it would find the pound sign there as an entity

Nao sei se o headlines funciona com RDF, podes tentar com um RSS 0.91 e um RSS 0.92 em Brasileiro, e escreve aqui se funciona ou nao.
