After viewing this thread, I tried jinzora, because I liked what I saw from the demo on the site.

I successfully installed jinzora as a module (instructions are found in the jinzora zip or tar.gz file), but it did not seem to have all the features working, for unknown reasons at this time. Not all skins were compatible with my XOOPS theme, also. My admin privileges for jinzora did not seem to be recognized despite a seemingly integrated XOOPS login.

I uninstalled jinzora, and I plan to give it another try in case my installation settings are to blame for the problems. I also wonder if XOOPS 2.0.16, which is what I have, is just not compatible with jinzora, since the latest version of jinzora looks to have been released around the time of XOOPS 2.0.15 (or earlier? I haven't bothered to look into it much yet).

I had renamed the module to "music" instead of jinzora in the xoopsversion file, so maybe that is a consideration? Also, I am not sure if some jinzora files should be chmod or have permissions changed other than the ones the installation flags.
I don't know.

Now, I can't upload anything successfully either with these errors:
NoticeUndefined indexextension in file /modules/x_movie/submit.php line 112

Notice
: Use of undefined constant E_STRICT assumed 'E_STRICT' in file /class/logger_render.php line 58

I'll have to keep trying things.
Meanwhile, I think I might have solved the URL issue. It seems there were a few instances of references to /class/snoopy.php in the tpl_imgtype.php from x_movie that were written incorrectly. There was Snoopy.class.php (notice the capital S and .class), and I think an instance of Snoopy.class. Fixing those errors helped.

Back to the uploads issue. Any idee-ers? Anyone?
I don't know.

mrphilong, I downloaded the version you link to. Yes, it works to upload as expected, but I cannot get the URL or embed to work. Does url and embed work for you?

It may be my own problem, because I had an earlier version of the module that let me use those features. I actually uninstalled it in favor of this latest version because those features seemed to stop working suddenly, but they still don't succeed.

Anyone have any idea what my problem might be?

Thanks...
I don't know.

Sounds to me like McNaz and his affiliates have withdrawn from the XOOPS community and have taken with them their contributions, so users are no longer permitted to make use of them. I just don't get the politics.
If I'm wrong, so be it.
I don't know.

Maadman, I am using v1.1, but I think it was considered a hacked version. It works fine though, and does have the feature you are wanting. It's strange though; I can't find a place where it is available for download! I can't find it anywhere. I'll let you know if I stumble upon it's location.

-EDIT-
Found the place I got the module from. You can see the page HERE. You may not want to bother, however, because the xProjects people closed there module site. They actually make reference to "the demise of Xoops" on their page as a factor.

PM.
I don't know.

I think I understand you correctly, and the solution shouldn't include changing code, should it? If you just go to the Preferences of the module, you can make it so the same user names cannot vote more than once, but the same IP can, so different users should be able to vote from the same network and/or computers.
Or am I misunderstanding your problem?
I don't know.

Any progress?

No, not yet. Since I am still trying to build the site, I can leave this alone for awhile and hope Orstio's next release of the bridge accommodates this issue. Maybe the next release will be available before I finish my site. If not, I'll have to figure out a solution. I really want to stick with SMF.
I don't know.

I was thinking it would have something to do with the code in the index.php where the bridging is taking place, but I will take a look at the block login html, too. Thanks for your thoughts. Appreciated.
I don't know.

Jamroom module or bridge

Jamroom allows you to build a music community, and I like what I see for the most part. It is free to download and install and the upgrade licenses are fair in price. I would love to use Jamroom with XOOPS instead of having to power my entire site with Jamroom, but that means it needs to be integrated.

Jamroom comes equipped with bridges already installed for things like Joomla and SMF, but not Xoops. I am using SMF as my forum, and it is wrapped in XOOPS with integrated registration and login/logout. Bridging SMF and Jamroom works, but only for registration that takes place through Jamroom. Login/logout is not integrated with any of the Jamroom "bridges," as far as I know.

Can anyone bridge XOOPS and Jamroom?

Can we have bridges for many other things developed and supported by the XOOPS community available for download or built into the core? I think it would be a huge improvement, and I have read that lately many are concerned with anything and everything that might help XOOPS pick up steam.

This is a lot to ask for from someone that knows nothing about PHP and can only wish he could contribute to Xoops, but I have to ask, right?
I don't know.

knight2000,
X_movie might be what you want. I came across it in this thread. I have not tested it enough yet, but it seems cool enough. It lets admin and users submit videos (multiple file extensions supported) through means of uploading or using an existing url. It can also provide users with the code to embed the video elsewhere if they want. Admin controls many of these options. It's worth a look.
I don't know.
